Tyler Seguin had two goals and two assists and the Boston Bruins beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-5 and tie the Eastern Conference finals at one game each Tuesday night.

Boston earned a much needed split at home and snapped the Lightning’s eight-game winning streak with the victory.

Game three is in Tampa Bay on Thursday.

The 19-year-old Seguin, the second pick in last year’s NHL draft, finally saw some action in game one of the series getting a goal and an assist, when Bruins star Patrice Bergeron sat out because of a mild concussion. Bergeron may be back for game three but not at the expense of Seguin who despite his scoring touch needs to shore up his defense if The Bruins are going to have any chance to win this series.

Bruins netminder Tim Thomas was not much better than Rollie himself allowing 5 goals against a 41 shot Lightning onslaught. The refs called plenty of penalties allowing The Bruins five Power Play opportunities (2 goals) and the Lightning four Extra Man opportunities (one goal) in a very non Stanley Cup like game by either club.
