I really think that Tiger's days of dominating the game of golf is done. He used to hit the golf ball 30 yards beyond all of his competitors. Now He sees a bunch of players driving the ball 30 yards further than He can. He can change his swing another 4 or 5 times but He simply isn't the MAN anymore. Nobody is intimitated by him anymore and everyone feels confident that they came beat him now. Will He win another golf title ? Probably. Will He win another Major ? Perhaps. Will He win another 5 Majors to break Jack's record ? Not a chance !

Only took you about 13 years to stick the fork in perhaps the greatest golfer you will ever see in your lifetime....you are correct that his dominating days are done, but put him in a match with any golfer you want today, he still would be the favorite over 90% of them...

I wouldn't sell him short of winning another 5 Majors....maybe he does and maybe he doesn't, but I will be rooting for him....

Tiger raised the level of the bar on the PGA tour....he single handily is responsible for all the higher purses on the tour, its attendance, and its TV ratings....every golfer in the World should realize this and get down on their knees, the same way when Palmer and Nicklaus did in their day...

His 1st shot has never been what makes him special.
Its always been his 2nd shot and his last shot that has separated him from the pack.

He has struggled from the tee his entire career.

The term " Sticking a fork in him " is a term that has always applied to any of the greatest athlethes in the world when they are on the downside of their greatest days. Nobody is belittling how Great Tiger was in his heyday. Michael Jordan, Gayle Sayers, Magic, Montana, Ali, ... They all had their day ! I'm simply saying Tiger's Heyday is in his Past IMHO

I agree 100 % since you included Palmer and Nicklaus.

He's only 35 years old....still lots of golf left.
its not uncommon for golfers to go through a time when they dont play good golf.

Jack didnt win his 15th major till he was 38....so come back in 3 years, and if tiger hasnt won his 15th major by then, i will agree with you.....

He is still WAAAYYYYY ahead of pace to catch Jack....and with the golfers out there now, nobody will ever come close or even think about catching tiger or jack

you don't win alot of majors after the age of 35.

but yeah, I think you gotta give a guy like tiger a little bit more time before you stick a fork in him.

I don't think he is completely back to normal after the whole having too much sex while married to a whore negative public spot light thing.....

Agree! He always stated when he was on top that there were many young players coming up that could hit the ball longer and straighter they he could and they are now on the tour to stay.

Plus, Tiger seems reluctant to just back off for awhile and try and get healthy before going out on tour. What is the point of playing the Majors (US Open) when your not healthy enough to contend. I think he plays because he would go crazy with not enough to keep him occupied and out of trouble. Sad. All he really knows is competing at golf and he doesn't want to fall too far behind the curent youngsters who have no fear of him.

He can't string more than 9, 12 holes max anymore like he used to.

Oh sure he can shoot a 33 on a back nine every now and then, but he follows it up with a 74 the next day.

With all due respect Oldmanted.....he has been contending in the majors which he keeps saying is all he cares about at this point. He says the goal is to peak 4 times a year

Yes he has always pointed toward the majors but tell me when the last time he really ended up contending and where he finished.

Well he was tied for the lead on Sunday at Augusta about a month ago for a short while.....even prompted alot of these bashers in this very room bashing to give tiger some props.....if you remember the tournament, he hit the ball better than anybody in the field at the masters, but his putter was lacking....everybody is bashing him now because sawgrass is fresh on the minds, but dnt forget Phil shot a 40 on the same front 9 that tiger shot 42 on.

I'm not saying he wins the us open this year, not saying that at all....but to say you can stick a fork in tiger woods is just dumb....I haven't seen one single golfer yet separate himself from the field....and like I said, he is still way ahead of pace to catch jacks record. I'm pretty sure if you would have asked a 21 year old tiger if he would take 14 majors by the time he was 35, he would have said hell yes

I'm a Tiger basher, and I was one of those Tiger bashers that gave him his due for putting together that very impressive back nine.
But in the last 24 months give or take, that's all he's got, nine very nice holds, nine crappy holes, one so-so round, and another round of 72 or so.
Until he can put together 70-67-69-68 like he used to, he's going to be in the middle of the leader board, and he hasn't shown he can shoot -7 for 4 rounds like he used to.

This reminds me of Kirk Gibson, a lot, he used to feared four times a game, then he was reduced to pinch hitting, he hit one of the most famous pinch hits in the history of the game, but that's all he was when he hit that homer, a once feared every day hitter reduced to one at bat or less.
