Man shot in Shoe City store

BALTIMORE - More information has surfaced from the Wednesday Shoe City shooting story.

Corrections officials say an inmate who walked away from a job was shot at a shopping center.

Authorities say 33-year-old Stanley Dunhamleft a Division of Correction delivery truck Wednesday afternoon near the Westside Shopping Center and was shot at the center after an argument with someone.

Officials say he was rushed into surgery.

Dunham had been incarcerated since 2002 and was nearing the end of a 15-year sentence for attempted second-degree murder. He had been working at DOC job since December.

The shooting is under investigation.

In one of my own final stints behind county level bars (Grand Prairie TX late 1995), I spent most of the five weeks working with a trustee crew cleaning out the City Hall from about 1am-4am.

It cut my time in half. The supervisor reminded us every few nights, "You guys are all serving off unpaid fines, back child support etc If you walk away from this when I'm not looking, you're guilty of Felony Escape and would likely get 1 to 3 years in state pen".

That kept us all right where we should be
