I figure this topic warrants a thread of its own. Man, what a time I have had down here. I will start with who I remember, name wise, I remember EVERYONE, but not all names, and remember, I am working on 2.5 hours sleep, Murph had me playing 1/2 NL last night till the wee hours, hell, he may still be down there for all I know, I left him and they were starting up a new table.

POWERS: Man, what a guy, I tell you what. BEfore I went down, I was a little iffy myself. I had friends and family say you are going where and to do what with people you have never met? I was like, yep. lol I didn't know Powers from Adam, but ever since I stepped foot into this hotel I have been treated like a king. He went 100% and then some, everytime I turned around he was giving/doing something else we asked. We had some nice chats about the industry itself, and the paticular situation that occured several months back.

I can honestly say this was NEVER, about the money! PERIOD

From the catered lunch provided, prepared and severed by his staff, to the hell of a spread at the Brizilan restaurant, it never ended with this guy! lol

If that were the case, no way they would have flown my ass down here with a $900+ plane ticket, hooked us up with whatever we needed and gave me 10K in cash!

Overally, it has been an unbelievable time with a good group of guys from what I spent with them. And again POWERS, if you are reading this......I definetly will be coming back and checking out that condo on the beach! lol

Wilheim: Man, where do I start. LOL. We have busted heads many of time, but in the end, we always "kinda" lol, knew where eachother stood. I had time to sit with Wil and discuss forum, baseball systems(from the DAYS), costa rica, what goes in to running the forum, to his morning excercise(he should be wrapping up about now. lol) Wil is a great guy and this forum is fortunate to have him around here. His wife is STUNNING! And he said if I ever move to Costa Rica he will give me a shot with his daughter! lol

OVerall, pleasure meeting Wil, super nice guy. Whats to help/have peace with everyone, but it's impossible and does a hell of a job at what he does.

Rock: Super guy, had some time to chat with him over dinner about a variety of topics. Would love together when I visit again later this year.

Kim and Staff: Cool, cute and a hard ass worker is all I can say. You can tell Kim has a passion for her job, it comes out in how she treats people. Super nice girl. There were a few others, JJ comes to mind, a native NY'er, and others that helped put the event together, THANKS! And Kim, drink that 2 cups of beet juice 2 times a day, it will help!

Judge Wapner: ##)^<<^:grandmais:pimp:$$:($$
Kinda all the above explain this guy. You have to meet him to understand. He is non-stop! lol. I didn't imagine it how it went, no shit. This guy must print money, lol. He showed us a GREAT time and was overly generous to the extreme. Wish we had more time to talk at dinner, but Boatboatboat wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise. lol

Then by the time we hit pirates club, well, words failed me at that time. @)

OVerall, GREAT experience and FUN time. I honestly didn't expect the trip to go like this. POWERS is cool as hell, and if he allows me to come back, I will be gladly to make a deposit and beat him outta more money! LOL

I will update more later, maybe Douglas, BBB(hope ya had a safe trip home) or Murph will chime in. All super great guys along with their wives.

Oh, yea, EOG didn't have SHIT on us. LOL

It's about time that you found out that Wil was a super guy.....lots of posters in forumville have a misguided opinon of him....

Judge Wapner is one of my best friends and he always does the right thing of taking care of posters coming down to CR for a visit....

Don't understand the EOG hit...don't know nothing about it....

EOG guys were great guys. It was just strange how secreative everything was. Either way, seems they had a great time, as everyone did.

Never said Wil wasn't a great guy. People are totally different from what they are on forums generally.

fix was in. bias against eog from the beginning. would have bet at any price they had no shot.
auto play was removed, so there goes the comparison between this event and the situation
that started it all. what a shame that the rx and easystreet had the whole day not just the fun parts
planned in advance. i had thought the rx was bigger than that. the rx partnering with
easystreet is like dancing with the devil.

just my two cents from an interested observer

What a great day Saturday was at The Easystreet CR JOB Video Poker Challenge.

Congrats to Bigbet for winning the top prize and thank you pal for the kind words..I can't say enough about the wonderful camaraderie and general great time had by all courtesy of Easystreet throughout the day yesterday on Saturday....

Thanks Viejo Dinosaur for the kind words also. Later on during the coming week Easystreet will post the results of the play exhibited during the challenge, data that will prove once and for all that the right thing was done in the recent Easystreet Casino case. I will let those statistics speak for themselves when they are posted..

I want to add that the two contestants from EOG were both gentlemen and good sports who I enjoyed meeting and hope they had a great time. I believe they both throughly enjoyed themselves.

Beside Bigbet, congrats to Murphy8276, Douglas and BoatBoatBoat who were also gentlemen during the entire event and a real pleasure to meet in person..Each adding their own personal contributions to the proceedings in their own ways..

Hats off to Easystreet for seeing to every one of the contestant's needs for the entire weekend. No expense was spared to show the players a great time from the beautiful Barcelo Palacio Hotel, the exquisite Brazilian restaurant everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner at last night and all the smaller but equally important details.

Powers and his crew led by Marvin worked extremely hard to make this a first class event in every sense of the word ..I want to thank Easystreet for inviting me to be an observer of the Challenge and on behalf of my Wife and Step Daughter (they missed seeing Viejo Dinosaur) for inviting them to the dinner last night..

I want to pass along my thanks to Mrs Douglas and Mrs BoatBoatBoat for adding some class to the already very classy proceedings..

All of the guys who participated were great sports who worked their tails off to play the JOB VP Game to the best of their ability.

Murphy8276 was especially enjoyable to meet being the youngest contestant, I think he had the time of his life. I really can't say enough about all of the players so I will just say great job and thanks for all of the many thank you I was fortunate enough to receive from all of you..Bigbet was very a gracious and deserving winner. I am truly glad we finally got to meet in person..

I didn't see Judge on Friday but knowing him, want to thank him personally for his amazing generosity that he (as usual) displayed to the group on Friday night. To a man everyone who met him had nothing but excellent comments to make about him..Judge Wapner a real class act...

Last but not least I want to thank the host of the event Alex Powers and Easystreet Sports. They without question outdid themselves while showing their guests a great time..I can honestly say the spared no expense to make sure the contestants had a fantastic time.

In case anyone is wondering - my services were 100% free although I did enjoy along with my lovely wife and beautiful step daughter a great dinner at the Restaurante Churrascaria Fogo Brazil in Sabana Norte here in San Jose courtesy of Easystreet.

I stayed up way past my bedtime Saturday night but managed to get the day started on time today. I sincerely hope everyone has a safe and comfortable journey home...

To those who scoffed at this event just ask the participants if it was worth attending..

Thanks, wilheim...

Still in Costa Rica and loving it .............Words on the internet wont be enough .
Treated like kings ?...........not enough ..........every detail from A birthday cake for me , to Powers having his staff take my wife shopping while I played cards was seen too.
Wil , your more of a gentleman then most could imagine . It was not just my wife that added the class to dinner last night alone , as your amazing family added much class too.

Met a great group ........I was able to exchange numbers w/ the EOG members who were class acts , along with Richard from Bet Phoenix who I also had the pleasure of meeting after speaking to him for the last couple of years !
I have much more to post /say about Powers and his great treatment to us , but I am going to a different casino to triple my winnings now !
I will update more when I get back to the States on Wednesday !

Thanks, wilheim

wil - it was great meeting u my friend...and we had a great conversation in between the end of the contest and the time we were picked up for dinner.. it was great discussing some things and getting to know u on a more personal level. Thx for taking time out on your days off to help with all the arrangements to allow 4 rx posters to have the time of their life down here! (also tell ur daughter thanks for the selection help at the restaurant.. it was excellent .. i expect her to post here as often as possible) :)

judge wapner - what more can i say about the guy... everyone already knows it.. but trust me this guy is a king down here.. and he gives and gets nothing but Royal treatment... and yes Vejo D, he claims U were the king here and way above his level at some point... this is unreal to understand as everyone seemed to owe this guy a favor, or want to do anything in the world to help him since he had treated them with respect and class in the past at some point....honestly Vejo.. if its anywhere near the treatment u give/get in Thailand.. schedule me a trip next week :D.... judge was truly the best possible arriving tour guides we could have had. ----dinner and the "entertainment" as he put it... was off the chain, amazing. /i can now understand why guys come here and never want to leave.... :D

Powers and Easystreet - WOW....its really all i can say... u spared no expense at making sure we had a safe and delightfully relaxing trip during our time down here...Powers was a excellent gentleman with class.. and his wife was an absolute Fox... wow is all i can say about that my friend :D.... it seemed like every time I thought more money couldnt be spent in showing us a good time and making us feel at home, there was something else around the corner.... this guy and his company were making us feel right at home and inviting and planning things for us we didnt even imagine before hand. even just the little things like taking douglas and his wife to get necessities when they arrived... Rock made sure that every dollar was accounted for when buying things.. also went out of his way to help plan a nice event along with easystreet in which the contest would be guaranteed authentic, be very fair, and be exhausting as well.. lol (i litterally felt like a lab rat....if cory1111 honestly did stuff like this 2hrs and 16mins endurance competition on the regular for FUN, he would be considered mentally INSANE!).......Kim was also especially helpful and prepared a nice smorgess board of beautiful cut fruits and finger foods before the competition... I am also sure that boatbb and douglas' wife were extremely impressed that the ladies from easystreet went out of their way to take them shopping and out while the "boys had fun" playing their asses off in JOB VP. LOL

3 guys from RX - It was especially nice hanging out with u guys and getting to know yall and the wives on a personal and real level where we arent considered "Imaginary Friends" as Douglas' wife put it :D :D :D I had a great time eating, drinking, gambling, and talking serious and shooting the shit with all of you. I would definitely make a trip some day to see each of you again sometime.. and that includes coming all the way up to new york to find out how real italian life is :D

bigbet - in particular....i definitely made a great friend in u bud....besides giving u an amazing run for your money in video poker (we were supposedly neck and neck entire time and literally within a pirates club hair from eachother in the prize money... congrats on winning the 10K bro... u came and succeeded as the favorite in the competition.. :D..... we arrived at the airport literally 2 mins apart and figured out who eachother as we were in the immigration line... lol of course i got yelled at and almost body searched after i tried letting 10 people pass me in line so i could let u catch up.. LOL / after that we had an amazing night at pirates club :D .. what happened in costa rica will never be known for sure.. but i know for a fact we had a great time there as well as last night in the poker room as u flopped a flush against some other guys smaller flush and i sat there and watched u laugh all the way to the double up bank as u cleaned him out for the 2nd time that night... - mind u this was his FIRST live play in poker nl 1-2 cash game.. haha.. beginners luck? who knows.. we shall see today my friend.

AFTER U LEFT POKER LAST NIGHT- i managed to REALLY have a bad beat... the poker room has a bad beat jackpot and a straight and royal flush jackpot with different varying amounts depending on if u flop or full-board a strt flush or royal.... well the absolute last hand of the night i played, i had 57 clubs... and flop comes 846 clubs... i looked at my cards atleast 10 times before breathing... looked over at the board and seen it paid 1500 usa$----i thought omg i just won 2500 at the vp contest and now i flop a 1500$ straight flush jackpot.. lol .. i knew from experience before that i must have my opponent see the river to be paid on some type of house jackpot so i checked the flop and planned on checking it all the way down. LOL instead my opponent goes all in... i laugh and quickly call, immediately standing up as i rollover my straight flush and begin cheering for 1500$... WOOOOOOOT... right>? Sadly the manager comes over and translates the rules in super fine print on an adjacent wall that there must be at least 5 players in the hand for the jackpots to become eligible... of course with my luck this was the last hour the room was open and we were playing shorthanded poker.. LOL 1500$ down the drain... sadly this really stunk.. but it is what it is.... grrrrrr :D

Looking forward to making some money up in the room today/tonight... see anyone down there who wants to join us including the eog guys who were very nice to meet and seemed just as grateful as we all were at the experience and treatment from the day they spent with easystreet as well.

Thx again all the new friends and faces i met....it was a pleasure!....i have had a great time so far here and still have about 30 hrs left to enjoy myself... hopefully i can win some more money in the poker room or maybe lose some at one of the "entertaining bars" around town.. LOL :103631605

more shame. rules of the "event" were not explained clearly--at least to the eog participants----apparenetly speed was
more important than losing money. and get this. there was no objective documentation shown to the participants.
easystreet says--hey you won--hey you came in second-hey you came in third, and so forth. this is an honest way to
treat guests and show you are a reputable sportsbook????
the participants were nice guys, no doubt about it. it's the main event that was a disaster and a sham.
too bad easystreet, you're right back where you started from. you could have gained good will points, however,
not this time.
