IF and that is a big IF - The Bruins can win another game against The Lightning do they stand any chance of beating The Canucks for The Stanley Cup?

The Bruins are one win away from giving us a Stanley Cup final between Boston and Vancouver. The Canucks took care of business by clinching the Western Conference title on their first attempt, an accomplishment the Bruins would love to duplicate in Tampa on Wednesday night.

Should the slightly erratic Bruins manage a win in either game 6 or game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final does anyone give them a snowball's chance in hell of actually winning The Stanley Cup????

They have a chance if Thomas stands on his head like he has done in a few games during this postseason (Game 2 vs. Philly immediately jumps to mind).

the west is stronger than the east, the canucks are the best of the west, and
they figure to be much better than the bruins. the price on the series will
seem high, but be fair. however, vancouver has some signficant injuries,
luongo has a history to overcome, and the pressure from all of canada on
vancouver to win will be a huge weight to carry. these factors will at least
give the bruins a chance. a few good bounces early in the series would
be very helpful for the bruins chances as that momentum could
overcome the advantage the canucks seem to have.

Definite Longshot Boston Bruins circa 2011..

Bottom line if somehow this Bruins team did take home Hockey's Holy Grail this year after last year's epic El Foldo against The Flyers - what a story it would make..Hell they still have to get that ever elusive 4th win against Tampa before they even begin to worry about The Canucks..

I remember The Big Bad Bruins team led by the immortal Bobby Orr of the very early 70s that won the Cup in 1970 and 1972 that used to make mince meat out of teams like the old Vancouver Canucks, California Golden Seals, St Louis Blues and the entire Western Conference..

The memories are never to be forgotten...

How many games did I go to in those days? Lots is all I can come up with..

well the greek has vanc -245 bruins +225 tb +1015 i thought the series line if the bruins advance would be vanc -200 bruins +180 and i wouldnt bet either side....

i think if you can get boston a little over 2-1 dogs it worth a small bet

bruins have a few things going for them, they have a goalie who can win them a series....they play well on the road....their PP cant get any worse lol (right?)

i will say this much the bruins need to play their best hockey of the postseason to beat vanc in the finals, they cant come out and play a 20minutes like they did in game 4 vs tb in the first period... then put it on cruise control...if they dont play with intensity for a full 60 minutes a game they will get crushed....they have shown flashes of brilliance in the postseason...if they can bring it, this could be a EPIC nhl finals

Ahhhh, hockey the way is was meant to be played - without helmets or heck even goalie masks.

Anything on the Bruins at +200 or more is a play on the B's, just too much value in a play like that. It is not, however, worthy of a 5unit play type play. Still not sure if Boston going to make it.

What is it with this series and almost instant 1st period goals? Another tonight by by Tampa's Teddy Purcell at 36 seconds.

The Stanley Cup has had Vancouver's name on it since the first game of the pre-season and they haven't let anyone down all season long. And they won't now. This team is no longer effected by the pressure once they got the Blackhawks monkey off their backs. ALL of Canada will be behind the Canucks as Canada hasn't had a team from their country win the Cup for the last 19 seasons. This is their year. Make no mistake about it.

Both Tampa and Boston came to Vancouver this year and caught us with our head down beat our home town heros.

Thomas/Roloson would not be able to steal the series, our power play is too good, & I would say Luongo is getting better.

Vancouver's defense is deeper and the we can roll all four lines when playing with a lead. The fact that Boston and Tampa are going to a game 7 will help the Canucks as the Sharks series was very physical and the rest will do are team good.
I think the travel will be a big factor that benefits Vancouver as either Tampa or Boston will have to come out here twice in a week something they are not use to. Vancouver hired a sleep doctor two years ago to measure the players and perscribe the exact amount of sleep they need to be at the peak physical condition for each game. Would not be surprised if other teams start to adapt this technique in the future as organizations tend to copy successful orginizations.

Lastly I would rather play Boston because if on the outside chance that we do loose I would rather it be to them who have waited for a cup longer than us than Tampa who hoisted it 7 years ago. That would be a tough pill to swallow tampa twice in 7 years and us going home empty after such a tremendous season - Nahhhhhh wont happen
