[COLOR=#000000! important]CNBC anchor Mark Haines has died at 65, the network announced Wednesday. Haines was the co-host of "Squawk on the Street" and had been at CNBC since 1989. He was one of the network's most familiar faces.
CNBC President Mark Hoffman said Haines died at his home on Tuesday evening.
"With his searing wit, profound insight and piercing interview style, he was a constant and trusted presence in business news for more than 20 years," Hoffman said in a statement.
The network produced this look back at some of Haines' most memorable moments with his longtime co-host, Erin Burnett, when she left CNBC.

I'm really surpriesed that more posters are not commenting on this...........to me, this was one of the more shocking deaths in quite sometime for me personally.

Then again, I have probably viewed CNBC in the mornings at least 120 times a year the past 12-15 years................making it feel that I actually knew Mark personally. Really respected the guy and enjoyed his entertaining style..........CNBC will never be the same.

The current duo doing the box this morning are flat out horriffic to listen to...........

The guy with the english accent and the asian gal with the annoying voice.

Painful listening.....CNBC needs to completely overhaul this duo.

You're going to see a lot of experimenting on that show in the mornings.
First Erin Burnett left to go to CNN and now Mark's passing.

Mark was a bull dog, he will be missed. RIP.

I watched that show sometimes but to see Erin. I think she is so pretty. I did like him too, they worked well together. I am surprised to hear about this, but at 65 and a heavy smoker, well that explains things. smoking is gross
