Non-factor in the grand scheme of things... pretty much every superstar takes advantage of this in their own way. Doesn't make it right, but i don't think it gives any one team an advantage.

...so blatant...it makes it impossible to defend.
Let me see.... Dr j didn't take extra steps and MJ didn't push off to get an easy open shot.... He's a
Super Star... That's what they all do and they all get the calls ! What's new ?

MJ, Kobe, Dirk, Lebron, etc., etc., etc. The more points these good players score the more exciting Stern thinks the game is. He doesn't care about the integrity of the game.

i must not care about the integrity than either... the "traveling" doesn't bother me, aside from rare occurrences.

Not sure how LBJ travels cant bother people. Its not like sliding the feet a tiny bit when he catches it, he takes extra steps on so many possessions and switches pivot feet like no other

no, blatant would be lebron or dwayne wade doing pretty much anything with the ball. they probably average 10 uncalled travels a game between the two of them

Spot on, would have posted the same thing, you beat me to it.

I made a thread last month "how many steps does Wade need to take before a travel is called?"

Bullshit.

I am an official scorer at the NCAA level, (men's and women's game), and no Dirk does not travel every time he does a fade away. As a matter
of fact, it's very rare that he does.

So, yet again "AlwaysRight" is wrong.

I forgot being an official scorer makes you an expert on Dirk taking extra steps. I have never taken the time to look at it, but being an official scorer doesn't make you best qualified to judge this. It isn't tough for someone who is not a scorer to grasp the concept of a traveling violation

Did I say it makes me best qualified?

I've played competitive basketball my whole life, and continue to do so.
They don't pick anyone off the street to work NCAA games by the way.

I'd say that scoring every home game for men's and women's NCAA games
would give me advantage over most joe-blows watching the game, but
you can choose to think whatever you like.

That being said, not only did AlwayZWrong say that Dirk travels *EVERY* time
he shoots the fade-away, he said it's *BLATANT*.

So, it should be very easy to verify that there is any truth at all to what he
is saying, right? I challenge you to go look at some game tape and come back
and try and defend that position. If you'd like we can put some money on it.
I'll wager that he doesn't even travel on 10% of his fade-aways. That seems
like a fair wager to me, since supposedly it's BLATANT, right?

I swear Bill and Zit should be nominated for the official rx couple, ive never seen such ass licking to one another from anyone else here on the rx. Ps the gay avatar award goes to bill for a picture of him and his puppies on his bed...seriously ...very gay.

It's not a travel, lifting up leg is not taking a step.
Umm, I like your puppy comment though, I think it's cute

not when youve already taken a step with the opposite foot first. I love Dirk but its a fact. He lifts what should be his pivot leg when he stepd back because for the majority of time hes already taken a step with it.

Since he does it every time, and since it's so blatant as you say, you should have no problem finding just one video clip showing the travel, right?

According to you, every video clip of him fading should prove your point.

I'm waiting.

Dirk>Larry Bird

Even Dirk says he doesn't deserve to even be included with that class of player, citing Larry's passing, rebounding (on top of his offensive skills).

He was asked on Tuesday night.

Personally, I think it's ludicrous and asinine to say Dirk>Larry Bird. But, that's my opinion.
