I just got back from Vegas and I can tell you that MGM and Tropicana could remodel if they wanted based on what a disater I was.... I spent five days in a row losing. Craps was a nightmare and BJ a killer. I was about even in the SportsBook but besides that it was a massacre.

I actually decided I would quite gambling for a year while I was on the plane...Yeah Right

No never did it. Unfortunately I was down the whole time and like a true degen i needed every minute and dollar to try and get back up (which never happened). Will do the club thing next time.

I am sorry you lost gmenknicks but i do give you credit for admitting it, most of the time all we hear about are major scores..Sounds like you can hold your own sports betting, hopefully in time you can right the ship handicapping ball games..

It is easy to get carried away while in Vegas...next time you should try setting a budget for the day and leaving everything else in the safe. I know it isn't guaranteed, but at least you will think twice before blowing your whole wad when you have to go back to the room to get it. Also - don't throw good money after bad! Once you have lost it, it is gone, no sense hurting your bankroll trying to get even...there will be plenty of other opportunities down the road.

I always made it a point to be as honest as I could be with my friends who dont gamble about my losses. When they see me win they think its all glory and fun and I always like sharing the excitement with them but I make sure they understand I am definitely down over all and the big wins are a rare thing..I learned this lesson the hard way when I was in the Marine Corps and I introduced a friend to Blackjack. He won like 2K in the first day an after that he thought he was a pro and ended getting dishonarably discharged bc of check fraud.

Anyways in Vegas I dropped about 4K which too me is like 100K..Its all relative and I wish I did set a limit and leave my ATM card in the safe.. But I am glad I found this site where people can relate to the struggle.

i feel your pain when i was there last i took 5k in cash and i ended up taking another 3 all ocould get from the atm and then had to do a cash advance on my credit card because atm wouldnt allow more out so i had to get a cab to go to air port and food or else id be having to walk to airport

I lost 8 of my own + over 25 grand in winnings playing blackjack

GMEN,sorry to hear the bad news bro,i lost in vegas before bad but not like you did. i stopped and took my losses,just said its not my day and there is always tomorrow.had some really bad losses in sports gambling before and it took its toll on me for sure for awhile.

i still go to vegas once or twice a year but don't gamble anywhere near like i used to,i kind of like to refer it as semi-retired from gambling as i do it under control now which i mean i bet small,tables and sports,no big money anymore,can't take the stress that comes with it.

Costa Rican blackjack tables are awful. There's no use playing when the dealer only takes 1 card on the deal. Dealer showing a face card, you need to hit, there is no winning play. Either you take a 10 and bust or you give the dealer the 10 for the win. You take the low card, dealer doesnt get that low card so less chance of busting. It's fucked up man, I played about 5 hands before I figured out the scam and never played again. I'll take the sure jackpot with the ladies.

Played in Dominican Republic and a similar thing happened. They treated me like a king with the pit boss and the waitresses hanging on every move i made. I was playing 25 a hand and some very weird things wer happening.
