under 3.5 washington team total

under 4.5 philadelphia team total

the starters in the first two games of this series were not as bad as 5-4 and 10-3 results would suggest. the problem is, all 4 starters (even halladay) allowed 2 or more home runs. those home runs produced 11 out of 21 runs scored in this series. oswalt and lannan are ground ball pitchers (3.22 & 2.43) and they allow very few home runs (2/45 & 5/61.1). with these two starters on the mound today i expect both teams to struggle offensively.

oakland moneyline

gio gonzalez has become 'the stopper' in the a's rotation. he is the guy oakland wants to have on the mound when things are looking bad. they are 13-3 in last 16 with gonzalez starting after an oakland loss. this is wht i am not surprised at all to see oakland favored AGAIN in this series despite two losses. with anderson going into this game with an era of under 1 in last three starts and with his offense scoring 27 runs in his last three home starts, and 24 runs in his last three starts overall, i'm confident in oakland win.

due theory:
no unders in last two games for san diego and that is not happening all that often. the best way to snap an 'over' streak for san diego is to go back home. facing a strikeout pitcher can only help. under 6.5

two overs in last two hernandez starts even though he pitched rather well in those games. the problem was in seattle offense who played well against nova and stauffer. not gonna happen against shields. under 6.5

first inning no runs:
