Full out 20 yard sprint to right center, sliding spikes first into the fence, catches the ball going away on his ass.

Catch of the year.
Easily.

Did not see but that guy is amazing in the outfield if he wasnt on pirates he would be noticed big time he makes full sprints on the ball and also even said unlike other mlb guys he doesn't go for the "web gem" diving catches unless he feels he can really catch the ball or need to to get the out (unlike some guys that will dive just to make the catch look that much better when it wasn't needed). Great player in my book that flys under the radar.

This game is amazing if you like defense, catchers making perfect pegs to nab stealers, Bay just made a diving, sliding grab, this whole game so far is a web gem.

Jones' catch was great, the McCutchen one, too, but my favorite outfield catch so far this season was the one by Nationals CF Bernadina a couple of weeks ago:

What makes McCuthcen's catch amazing is considering where he started from, the ball looks like a pea.

That was a great catch indeed. My Buccos are finally showing some signs of becoming a competitive team. They are still a couple of pieces shy but, the pieces we do have are exciting to watch...GO PIRATES!!!!

I am 52 and when I was young, the Buccos won the World Series in 1971 & 1979. We had Hall of Fame caliber players on the team and were competitive year in and year out. We even had a short run in the late 80's/early 90's that was fun but, Barry (weakest arm in the outfield ever) Bonds couldn't throw out Sid (slowest white man in baseball history) Bream scoring from second base on a short single to left field thus beginning an era of losing that has left a whole generation of Pirates fans not ever seeing a winning team. I follow them closly and I really feel that Huntingdon is doing a great job in stocking the minors with talent. I can only hope that some of that talent can make it to the parent club and help them become a competitive team again...I guess I can DREAM!!!! In the mean time, I can enjoy watching some of the youngsters in McCutcheon, Alvarez, Walker, Tabata, Hanrahan, and Meek.
