With the 2011 Belmont Stakes race right around the corner, the baseball season is approaching the midway mark and there is plenty to talk about heading into this weekend. Here is a quick look at a couple of MLB trends to keep an eye on.

Rangers Look To Buck Indians Trend In Weekend Series

For as good as the Cleveland Indians have been so far this sports betting services season, there is every reason to think that they will run into a bit of a bump this weekend against the defending American League champion Texas Rangers. The Indians will host Texas in a three-game set, but despite winning 19 of their first 25 games at home they will be pushed by a Rangers’ team that has underachieved so far but is finally starting to get healthy. Texas should have the favorable pitching matchup in all three contests beginning Friday, with the undefeated Alex Ogando opening things up and CJ Wilson wrapping up the series on Sunday. The Rangers have MVP Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz both back in the lineup, and they should be able to put a dent in Cleveland’s strong home record so far this season.

Brewers Improving But Still In Tough Against Marlins

The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the hottest teams in baseball over the past month, but they will have their hands full trying to keep that strong run going this weekend with a battle against the Florida Marlins in the sunshine state. It’s not that the Marlins have been incredible at home this season, but Milwaukee has been absolutely horrible on the road as losers of 19 of their first 28 away from home. Yovanni Gallardo will get the call for the Brewers on Saturday with the opportunity to break up a potential sweep, with Ricky Nolasco and Anibal Sanchez bookending the per head sporsbook series for Florida.

Blue Jays’ Bats Look To Break Out Of Recent Slide

After flirting with the top of the division in the AL East a couple of weeks ago, the Toronto Blue Jays have faded back into the division after being swept be the Indians in a mini two-game set, and they will now need to be much better at home against the Baltimore Orioles to avoid falling into the wagering services division basement. The Blue Jays have been very inconsistent so far this season, an obvious sign of a young and inexperienced team, but when they have been able to put things together they have looked dominant at times and they always seem to bounce back after a tough outing. Toronto will head to Camden Yards looking to climb above the .500 mark on the road for the season, and given Baltimore’s awful run differential so far this season they should be able to get the job done. The Blue Jays will send ace Ricky Romero to the mound on Saturday and then Jo Jo Reyes on Sunday.
