At the time of this writing, the following Match Odds/Moneyline were available: Toronto Blue Jays (1.86, -116) and Kansas City Royals (2.14, +114)

Royals are 4-1 record in the series at home
Blue Jays are 13-16 after a win

Toronto continues to hammer out home runs in picking up a series victory in Baltimore over the weekend and now heads off to Kansas City for a three-game set. The Blue Jays have hit 323 homers over the past two seasons, which is best in the Major Leagues and hope the return of first baseman Adam Lind will spark the offense even more. He returned to the lineup against the Orioles and had four hits, including two homers and three RBIs Sunday. "It was just nice to go out there and play," said Lind. "I had a bad game yesterday and a good one today. That's just the way the season goes." The club is 15-15 on the road, but has won seven of 10 due to hitting .290 with 12 home runs. Toronto is 21-14 in night games this season and 21-23 versus right-handed starters.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Brandon Morrow is 2-3 with a 5.11 ERA in
eight starts this season and is coming off a forgettable outing last time out. He allowed six runs on nine hits over five innings of work in a 6-3 home loss to Cleveland. The right-hander has posted a perfect 2-0 mark and 3.12 ERA in three road starts, failing to surrender a home run in 17 1/3 innings. In seven lifetime appearances (two starts) versus the Royals, Morrow is 2-3 with a 5.51 ERA, giving up four round trippers in 16 1/3 frames. He has registered an 0-3 record and 10.57 ERA in five lifetime appearances (one start) at Kauffman Stadium.

Kansas City has lost 17 of 22 games and just suffered a four-game home sweep to Minnesota over the weekend. "The Minnesota Twins came in here with all their starts gone," manager Ned Yost said. "All their big players are out of the lineup, and they kicked our butt." The Royals were outscored 26-6 in the series, but some players continue to have good plate appearances during the team's losing streak. Rookie first baseman Eric Hosmer extended his hitting streak to seven games, batting .400 over that span, while Billy Butler has boosted his average to .305. The club's 20-17 record on May 12 has fallen off a cliff to 25-34 heading into tonight's contest. Kansas City is 19-18 in home games this season and 0-2 after getting shutout.
