Needs to pick it up

Tampa Bay will hand the ball to rookie Alex Cobb, who will be making his third big league start. Cobb has failed to register a decision in either of his first two outings, and against Texas last Tuesday allowed three runs and four hits in 6 1/3 innings. He has pitched to a 5.91 ERA in his two appearances.

And the Rays can hopefully trade sonny for a bucket of balls..

Looked good in minors:

5-0 with a 1.14 ERA. 50 k's in 47 IP.

Alex Cobb(notes) (1-0, 3.57) has pitched well recently with the minimal run support, allowing two runs in 12 innings over his last two starts. The rookie earned his first career victory June 7 against the Los Angeles Angels before striking out a season-high seven in 5 2-3 innings Monday against Detroit.

Go get them Marlins Alex!!!

Three Quality Starts in four outings....plus he is likely to be sent back to Durham tomorrow with Jeff Neimann returning off of disabled list.....Great spot for him to crank it and shine in preparation for a September return

7 strong shut out innings today as he gives to the 'anything can happen' Rays Bullpen...

Price helly Nieman Davis and Cobb -- make it possible for the Rays to fleece someone for Shields... Hopefully for a SS of the future..

I think if its a tie going into the last game of the season I rather have Cobb on the mound than either Moore, Price or Archer, but if any of the 4 were chosen I'd be confident.
