What did you enjoy most, or hate the most, and did you ever absorb a collision blocking the plate? I know I have been run over but I enjoyed being involved in calling pitches and setting up the fielders on most plays. Do u think you're fair game or was the Posey play dirty? Should baseball change the rules to protect catchers in that situation?
In high school played catcher one game. Kept dropping the ball for some reason, I wasn't used to the mitt. I was used to playing first base. The coach kept asking if I was "ok" and I yelled back "Hate it" but he told me to stick it out for another inning and the next inning got into one of those pickle situations between home and third and I fucked it up. Runner comming hard and came close to me but then switched his jets to to the other way but his sudden jerk move made me throw the ball to the third baseman and the runner then quickly changed course back to home as I was throwing the ball. Hate all the equipment and shit...it disoriented me and reminded me of wearing football gear. I love football but don't want to wear football gear playing baseball. Well anyways, that's my brief story playing catcher. Went back to playing infield after that.
