I called, but as 99% of most people selling used crap here, they expect to get near new prices.
The bike is 15 years old. Which means the following parts will need to be changed very soon, as they get worn down and the bike has had no recent fixing up: Cassette, chain, chainset, rear derailleur, rear hub, frunt hub and the front suspension fork (this last one will be especially fucked up as the owner has neither brought it to a shop recently, nor knows how to properly maintain his fork)
As well as the owner told me the seat needs fixing/changing (likely worth it to change, you don't want seat problems, and the difference between fixing/changing isn't much)
And I'm going to get the super fabulous price of $1000 on a bike that brand new would cost less than $1500. lolz I didn't make an offer, as $300 would all to likely be turned down.
I wonder if there is a society that has the
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endowment_effect more than CR. Because Americans in America (as well as some Europeans in Europe) sometimes fall for the endowment effect, but no where near as often as people here in CR.
Is there a measure for that? Maybe the amount of time the average property stays for sale, waiting for a sucker? I swear, I think the average time on the market for a tico house is like 15 years. And it isn't because there aren't any buyers.
