if you sit back and think about it, you could probably come up with what im about to ask....

your a diehard fan and you have never seen your team win the Cup, you got 2 tickets to game 7 at home, do you want them to wrap it up in game 6 in boston b/c winning the Cup is more important and you dont want to give boston life in a game7 where anything is possible or do you hope they lose so you have a chance to go to game7

not as extreme, but i remember in 2008 with the celtics when i had seasons...

of course i wasn't rooting for them to lose game 5 in LA (which they did), but i wasn't disappointed one bit when they did, because i knew i'd be able to see them clinch at home in either 6 or 7.

wrap in game 6.

i had cubs tickets to game 7 of the NLCS vs. Florida in 2003 with kerry wood scheduled to pitch. before game 6 i said i don't care if they win today b/c i have tickets to game 7... well game 6 turned out to be the bartman game and the cubs lost games 6 and 7 and have not been the same since.

game 7's at home can be way too much pressure - especially when everyone had you winning easy after game 2.

Since I've spent most of my life in Portland, Oregon, the Vancouver Canucks would be the closest NHL team. I would certainly prefer that the team returns if I had tickets to game 7. Watching a game 7 in person would be on any fans bucket list.

no question, any diehard canuck fan wants this done in 6. After the canucks have won their first cup I can start thinking about the luxuries of seeing a game 7 game stanley cup final but right now the cup is the only thing that matters and I don't want to take a chance on Thomas standing on his head in game 7 or a fluke bounce deciding the cup, wrap it up asap.

wrap it up as soon as you can. I think winning a championship (especially when its the team's first one ever) is up first on any hardcore's fan list... being there in person to see it would be next.

It works both ways. Since Canucks have never won a Stanleu Cup , it also means that your chances of ever seeing your team win the cup in person just might never ever happen. The Canucks have been the best team in Hockey all year and as a fan with tickets, I have to believe that they would be good enough to win game 7. Life is always about taking chances ! There's nothing quite like winning the Cup in a game 7.

My favorite hockey team has also never won the Cup. And I can tell you as a hard core fan that living to see my team get inscribed on the cup is on my bucket list, being at a game 7 isn't.

Spoken by someone that lacks confidence in your team is what that sounds like to me ! I guess I'm just more of a optimist ! The glass is always half full for me ! Go for the gusto for me ... Life is short ! We 're not just talking about being at just any old game 7.... We're talking about game 7 for the Cup ! Bucket lists are for you being there !

Well in that case I'd be wagering on a game 6 win also but how much is the wager would still be part of the equation and I take it you don't or wouldn't have tickets for game 7 also. Having tickets to game 7 is what makes it part of my bucket list !

Yeah being there would be epic, but hoping for your team to lose would seem sacrilegious, and may haunt you if they end up never winning in your lifetime

Yeah ! That's what makes it a very good question and I think if that question would be asked on a National scale, the vote would go both ways. A lot of people in Vancouver probably would never admit to wanting the Canucks to lose game 6 and I'm sure wouldn't be too upset if they won. I'm just saying the biggest thrill would certainly be the game 7 if I had tickets !

i think if the canucks had dominated the bruins at home, more people might wish for a game 7, but winning 3 games by a total of 3 goals is a little too close for comfort.

Good point ! However if I had tickets, I still would want to be there for game 7. Dangerous thinking I know but I'm just telling you how I roll. I had 4 season tickets when Portland won the NBA title back in 1977. The town went crazy !

Would really want the series to go seven games

That's the only way I maximize profits from selling the tickets

i think nuckers had the right answer, or the answer i was looking for....

i can only go on what ive went thru with the red sox (fwiw my grandfather died at 84) never saw them win a WS...so the red sox lore runs deep with me b/c my family on my dads side is very close....he was one of those "red sox fans" whose dying wish after living a very fulfilling life would have been to see them win the WS....if this was the 2004 red sox id want them to win 14-0 in game 6....

now if it happened this year, after going thru 2004 (forget 2007) its just not the same...if i had tix to a game 7, id want them to lose game 6 so i could be there for game7

I had 4 tickets to game 7 last year for Hawks/Flyers. Never even a question I wanted the Hawks to win in 6.

Canucks to win tomorrow. Had the chance to go to game 5 and that was enough stress for me. Can't imagine a Game 7..
