These 24 hour self service operations seem to be popping up in strip malls everywhere....

if there was a 24 hour gym close to my house I would really consider joining as I don't keep regular hours. I use the gym at my city's recreation center, $75 for the year with my city employee discount, it's small but usually empty and has basically everything I need and it's just a 3 block walk.

I find it a good way for a married man (with kids) to get out of the hut and watch a game (while running on the tread).

I see no need to waste time and $$ doing something that I find boring as going to a gym. I keep very active living life by going fishing, Hiking, or just walking or working. There's hundreds of things to do to keep one in shape !

I live in South Jersey and my gym keeps bankers hours. Closes at 10pm weekdays 7pm weekends. They also charge $74 a month dues. I used to belong to Bally's but one near me is a toilet. I'm a night person and hate my gym's hours. If you live in NYC, LA and Las Vegas there are plenty of 24 hour facilities.

Kermit, I find guys that usually say this have a big fat old gut with absolutely zero muscle on their body (maybe not you at all). Anytime Fitness is $30 a month and what's better than having access to a full weight room and cardio machines and also getting a glimpse at some 20-year-olds keeping in shape? You can't get muscular or work on your cardio by fishing. Come on now. Who you trying to kid here?

Besides working out is probably the only way to go if you want to avoid the muscle loss that takes place when you start getting older.

I cant go fishing everyday or hiking everyday, and work..........it gets me incredibly stressed ha!

cardio is good but I want strenght also

I guess you can work on your biceps when you cast a line out LOL. Working out isn't just about muscle or cardio either. It's about stress relief and proper diet. I see a lot of dudes wasting a lot of energy at the gym doing some exercises that just have never been done before.

County rec center, about $30/month. Decent hours (until 10pm M-F, and 8pm on weekends).

Could find cheaper, but center has full-court basketball, and two pools. I don't mind paying extra for hoops.

Only complaint, clientele tends to be family-oriented. Not the best place for women watching.

Speaking of gyms, want to punch people in the face who grab dumbbells from the rack, then stand directly in front of the rack.

Yeah, because nobody might need the 20 other dumbbells that you're blocking. As you're standing 10 inches from the mirror.

Really, back up a few feet.
