BTW I keep the temp on 72 downstairs and 74 upstairs.

that would feel awful cold.. i think i could tolerate 77 during the day and 76 at night if the bedrooms were upstairs.

do you have any paddle fans ?

i live in a 1500 sq foot oceanfront condo , keep it at 78 all day and 76 at night so i can sleep..

depend on how good your central air is, if you have a shitty one it would cost you more $$$ in the long run.

We have to run the a/c a lil more and lil lower than most of the country because of the high humidity. Its been mid 90's all week and will be thru early Oct more than likely. My Electric bill will run $300 easily and with natural gas added i wont go below $350 till at least November, next 3 months will be $400+ range. I need to get off my Axx and switch to a gas dryer, that would knock it down prolly $30 a month.
My room is separate from the rest of the house...so the central a/c stays at about 74 but they usually have 3 ceiling fans going over there also. I have my own unit for my side and its on 67 right now....i pay the bill i get the comfort....lol

I live about 2 miles from the beach so my house (2200 square feet) does not have AC due to the moderate climate. I pay about $80/month to SoCal Edison

Last month my bill was $77. Now that I will be staying home full time for the next 3 months my bill will be about $250. I live in hot Dallas where the humidity is high and have 2200 sq. feet. I set the thermostat at 76 and been lowering now to 74.

Last year I lived in a 1500sf single-level house and kept the temp at 78 (desert humidity). My bills were between $180-$240 per month. Outside temps averaged between 105-115 for daytime highs.

I live in VA and we had one of the hottest Mays on record and our house, a new build, 1800 sq foot, keeping temperature set at 72 had a bill of $121

I was thrilled

76 during day when we're not home....73 to 72 when home and 70-71 when sleeping

Our monthly electric will average about $240 June-Sept

Drops for a couple months and then in Jan-Feb actually goes back up to over $200 since our heat is electric
