What an awful week, especially today. Of course I don't have to tell you guys that, since the way I've been going about things--and I'm sure it's the wrong way--is taking a tally of the plays on this forum, unit by unit, and playing them. Starting last Saturday, I am down 458 units since then. And that's not even counting Tuesday, when I was out of town and didn't play anything. Plus the plays that haven't finished yet are probably going to add another 10-15 units of loss.

I had a horrible week up until last night when I finally broke thru. Today I tailed Hook Em Horns on Cincy and they came up big. Just battle back slowly and do not chase. I am still down about a nickel for the week, but I was down closer to a dime, so I will take it. GL on your battle back process.

I know.....just wanted to vent among some people that I felt would wanna join in. I figured a lot of people were having a bad week, especially yesterday and today (for me anyway--stupid Sunday baseball), and figured instead of cluttering everyone else's threads with it, this might turn into a place where the venting could happen without clogging up threads. I feel that getting it out on here is much better than other ways of taking out frustration. Apparently I was wrong, though, as a typo was the first thing someone noticed. If a mod feels this is not a productive thread, they can delete it. No biggie.

Had Rox last night -1.5 +140
Rox with Jimenez sailing, up 3 runs in the sixth, he pulls up lame with calf problem.
Rox b/pen gives up 2, makes it 4-3.
Nelson dinger makes in 5-3, looking good.
Ninth inning, still up 5-3, r/l looking solid with Huston Street in for gimme save.
Out one, can 'o corn, out two, ditto.
First two hitters go down like a 5 dollar Newark 'ho
Third guy up walks, no worries.

Up 5-3, two out in the ninth, man on first, Rox play the first baseman behind the runner, who takes second automatically on catchers indifference.
Guess what happens next? Soft ass single to right, 5-4, last batter goes down like Monica on Bill, game over, buh bye r/l
:ohno:

I feel your pain.

if ur going to tail, pick one person and follow them religously. dont jump from person to person, dont follow too many people, and dont bet too many units daily compared to ur bankroll. also i would try to not interact with the person you are tailing (ie asking them lots of questions or suggesting games to them etc) you are tailing them for a reason, so let them do their work in peace and reap the benefits.

I actually have basically a 400 unit bankroll, so I've really only lost a little over 10 "normal" units, so yeah it's still a ding, but not the end of the world. I don't feel that's too many units daily, but I'm probably wrong there too. It's just how the games have happened. Like today, Angels/Mets under....Mets do nothing for 8 innings then score in the ninth to go over. And in the WNBA (figured I'd drop in since it's being promoted so heavily in the offshore forum), I took the Chicago/Connecticut over at 151.5....and you know how that ended. Like I said, just letting off some steam in a way that I didn't feel would hurt too many people or clog up threads, and provide a one-stop place for others to do so.

I'm not a mod, but been around here a long time.
Mods frown upon the 'John Smith Sucks' threads because he gave up a run to blow the thread starters wager.
They don't frown so much upon the type of thread you started,(as long as you don't make it a habit) but like I said, I'm not a mod.

Better luck in the future.

i hear ya dauis, but at the same time you seem to want to be making some changes. Looks like hookemhorns has hit 10 straight and kap_akpm seems to be doing very well. both dont play a ton of games or risk a lot of units. might be two guys to look into following. I get the feeling your a little bit of an action junkie and have bets all over the place, which can be fine if you limit the plays really small, but losing 45+ units in a week, doesnt lead me to think that. just have to find money discipline and fight off boredom bets

Well said. Absolutely nothing wrong with this thread. Sometimes it's good for our posters to share their frustrations as long as they keep it civil. We all go through losing streaks. It's how we handle them that says alot about how we'll do in the future. A good friend once told me that gambling is easy when your winning but the measure of the player is how he handles losing.

That is a very interesting way to look at it. I think it is ok to interact with the person u tail or fade, but never ask them why there on a side. Stating other reasons why you agree with there selections just seems to bring forum members together and we all start rooting for each other to win. It is never good to call out a fade like one member did to mondo.

thing that always worries me, is saying Im struggling in baseball. I really like the over in the redsox rangers game. The guy im tailing doesnt mention the game in his plays for the day, i go to his thread and post, what are your thoughts on the red sox over, so and so sucks vs left handed lineups, the wind is blowing out hard to center, and both teams bats are hot. The guy who i have been tailing and doing well, now has it in his head to go back and look at the game, now hes got all this shit in his head and talks himself into thinking its a good game too. People start talking to cappers that have a good thing going just leads to trouble in my mind. sure you can thank them or pick them up after a bad day, but id keep quiet about the plays in general

I so can relate to this post. I had Yankees RL saturday. I get the 2nd run in bottom of the 8th. I am watching 9th inning with a gut feeling Rivera would blow it. I think he got the 3rd strike that was called a ball and the very next pitch, same pitch gets hit out for solo shot and a loss on the RL>
i was so frustrated this week.
