BAL-PIT
-Overbay is the only Pirate to have seen Arrieta before, 0/3, while Morton has gotten hit pretty hard by the Orioles. Only 1 XBH in 10 hits, but the average is a concern at .417 considering we'd normally want something in the 200s. He's had major problems with lefties recently, which Baltimore can throw out in Markakis, the switch-hitting Wieters, Pie and Scott. Because the game's in Pittsburgh, Pie and Scott are unlikely to both be out there unless Derek Lee sits. I doubt that'll happen, especially because he's hit Morton in the past, but it'd also hurt the under a ton if Scott shows up in LF because there's a ton of ground he'd need to cover out there and he's not exactly fleet of foot. That makes me think we'll see Pie in LF, which would add some defense and who knows if he's good enough with the bat to hurt Morton. I would guess no. The bullpen is a concern for Baltimore, still think they should go to Uehara as the closer but I'll take him as a set-up guy if the Bucs are leading. Morton's generally on a pitch count, but McCutchen looked great in the long/middle relief role against Houston to get the game to Hanrahan who has also been solid. McCutchen hasn't worked since throwing 3 innings @HOU, which makes me wonder if he's getting prepped to go back to being a starter? He'll be fresh for tomorrow if needed, which is a big help considering the fact that Veras may be limited after throwing an inning the last two days. Hanrahan should get some work tomorrow, so that'll help. On the other side, Showalter has asked a lot of his guy to give him extended outings from only taking one inning to two. He did that yesterday with Johnson (not new) and Uehara, while former starter Brad Bergesen did it on Saturday. If he's getting ready to do that I sort of like the idea because that will limit the leadoff walk from the guy who isn't really ready as we get deep into the pen. That means Gregg for sure to close the game out, which is scary. I still think the number is high, but I'll have to wait on the Scott/Pie decision in LF and to see exactly what type of umpire we get.

LAA-FLA
-Both teams aren't hitting and both are throwing out studs on the mound. Forcing Weaver to hit will help the Fish, but who can bet them when they've lost 18 out of their last 19 games. I'm trying not to play unders below 7 because those are games bullpens are destined to blow, so if I can somehow get that after I see an under ump I am in. Jose Lopez has seen Jered a lot, but the rest of the team has only 14 ABs and 11 of those come from John Buck (.091). Lopez hit him at .260 with 2 HR, so he's done well, but Stanton will probably be out again and HanRam has been awful. The Angels don't support Jered much, and nobody on the roster has seen Anibal before. I like the Fish's pen, hate the Angels, but the Halos shouldn't need much. Will wait but the number is iffy right now and so is getting down when a good umpire comes out...

Houston-Texas OVER 10.5 (+102)

-Decided to take the odds instead of eating 20 cents to get a flat ten. The wind tunnel is in effect tomorrow and we got two extremely inconsistent LHP who face two righty-heavy lineups. Texas should smack Happ around and the Astros should love to get away from Chavez Ravine and into a hitter's park

Atlanta Toronto Game !:Atlanta now hits the 40 mark with a 40-33 overall record winning 1 5-5 Last 10. Toronto is 36-36 losing 1 and 4-6 Last 10. Even thought the Braves hit the 40 mark, they have dropped 6 of 9 at Turner Field and not pegged back to back home wins since late May. Hudson will get duty for Atlanta tonight posting 5-6 .408 ERA. Romero for Toronto is in action and he is 6-6 .301 ERA. Hudson had allowed at least two earned runs in his past few starts and morevoer, the Braves are 1-4 in the last 5 of Hudson starts. Romero is coming off a 12 strikeout outing and has been rather sharp this year with 87 strikeouts in his resume. Romero is also fairly soild in interleague play at 3-1 2.03 ERA in last 6 starts against NL. Atlanta hitting improved somewhat yesterday as Freeman, Heyward and Uggla contributed, but overall the Braves still are only averaging 3.9 runs per game. Chipper Jones may play in this series, but his presence might only be in a pinch hit role. Jose Bautista is batting .348 with 2 Home Runs and 6 RBI's in interleague play. Baustista ranks among the leaders in The Majors for Home Runs with 21 but has only homered once in 70 bats. Escobar continues to rack up RBI"S with 26 and counting. Atlanta ranks last in The Majors with .223 against lefties and will get a their first taste of left hander Romero tonight. Toronto is similar to the Texas squad that took 2 out of 3 this weekend offensively and with Romero's ability and sharpness to produce 10 + strikeouts, we will focus on the Toronto +110 ML. Atlanta batters still are not making good decisions at the plate overall by swinging at bad pitches and Romero should get his share of easy outs. Hudson's trend in his last 5 starts and 5.79 ERA in June possible show age and number of innings piched may becoming a factor. Toronto is averaging 4.7 runs per game so we will also look to the Toronto Over 3 1/2 + 105 in expectation of the possibility that Jose Bautista breaks out of his Home Run slump tonight against Hudson and Escobar adds a few more to his RBI talley. Finally we will look to the Toronto - 1/2 + 145 First Five Innings in expectation that Hudson does indeed make a mistake yielding runs before the middle innings while Romero dials ins on a struggling left hitting Atlanta club. Atlanta's Bullpen might be able to contain Toronto is the latter innings, but the damage could too great for the Braves to overcome if they trail and try to come from behind. Toronto with a 19-18 road record with a sharp Romero should be able to keep a deficent run production Atlanta from pegging back to back home wins. BOL everybody. Enjoy The MLB Action. YANKS/REDS..EXTREMELY STRANGE LINE YANKS +110 OVER 9.-115 juice

The yanks had the most runs in the league last week and Cincy was near the bottom scoring only 4 all weekend against the bottom 3 on the Blue jays staff..So now they're going to score alot??????? Cueto has been pitching well but not against a lineup like the Yanks.Usually when the Yanks are a dog to a team like cincy , their fans load up on them and then the Yanks lose.I'm falling for the trap..in a high scoring game the yanks have the edge,.Also the bottom 3 in the Reds lineup poses a much smaller challenge than what Nova has had versus the Bostons and texas's of the world

Look at the RBI's difference and strikeout difference between Atlanta and Toronto. I am assuming the numbers in the chart are correct. The Nationals are only 2nd to BoSos in HR's. I will have to inform my buddy who is a Nat's fan if he doesn't alread know. The majority of the Braves 7 HR's have been solo shots as indicative of their 3.9 runs per game average. Even if Atlanta does touch Romero tonight for a solo HR, he should still be fine as Braves tend to laspe between HR innings. Toronto does need to improve on that 1 HR and I look for Bautista to possible get at least one tonight off Hudson maybe on the second go around in the order.

i like the tigers as well....i know kershaw is a bad ass, but detroit hits lefties well and thats some pretty decent value against the dodgers hollow bats lately

Penny has had plenty of experience @ Dodger stadium obviously.
28-17 with a 3.88.
Although he was roughed up in his only start since leaving.
Kershaw's the xfactor. If he decides to throw a shut out or something. Gyno's right tho. This team just doesn't want to score runs.
Either Det or a no play.

Braves lineup looks weak tonight. Freeman in the 4 whole followed by a struggling Uggla. Lets Go Romero...This is coming from a Braves fan
