Boston teams and athletes have been featured frequently on the cover of Sports Illustrated. In the June 21 issue, goaltender supreme and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Tim Thomas represents the Stanley Cup champion Bruins on the cover of SI. Here, Thomas is seen hoisting the Cup over his head after the Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks, 4-0, in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

While Thomas's efforts drew rave reviews across the NHL, sometimes being on the SI cover is not quite the honor it may appear to be. Many believe in the "Sports Illustrated cover jinx," which holds that misfortune or upset awaits those that the magazine chooses to spotlight.

East coast bias. Do you think the Canucks would have made the cover? Hell, the Red Wings never make the cover when they win it.

As a Canucks fan, I totally agree!
He stole the series and is a great guy!
Take him over Hork a Loogie any day!
