A review by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles brought some good news to Ohio State as part of the NCAA investigation into possible impermissible benefits received by football players.
According to the 65-page report, no evidence was found that Buckeyes players and family members received below-market deals for purchases at two local Columbus dealerships. Such an arrangement would constitute an NCAA violation.
The probe into the car purchases was sparked after a report that former quarterback Terrelle Pryor was stopped for traffic violations three times in the past three years while driving cars that were owned by a car salesman or a Columbus used-car dealer for whom the salesman worked.

Ohio State is scheduled to go before the NCAA Committee on Infractions in August as part of a probe into former coach Jim Tressel, who has admitted lying about his knowledge of players selling memorabilia in exchange for services and money.
Tressel resigned last month, and quarterback Pryor announced he was entering the NFL's supplemental draft last week as part of the fallout from the investigations into the program.
