Feeling here is the kid is on the verge of a breakout game.
Last start against Pitt he fell victim to shoddy fielding behind him.
Went 5 2/3 innings, 4 hits, struck out 8.
He's a strike out artist, almost one per inning.

Texas has never seen him, I like kids with good stuff facing a team for the first time.

Thought it's a small sampling, Houston has shown they can hit Wilson.

Houston getting +195 is EXTREMELY generous.

The value is def on houston, but I like the under more ....CJ Wilson is pretty tough to beat in Arlington (15-4 home record for CJ)

they are not even close to the worst team in baseball, slightly below avg offense with a great bullpen. starter going tonight has been really good so far this season

rangers with one of the worst bullpens in the league and cj wilson is vastly overrated by the market

texas looks really overpriced

Vastly overrated? Lol.....how is that? CJ is coming off 129 pitches last time out against yanks, that's the only reason stros are worth a shot. Lefties can't hit CJ, def can't hit
HR'S off him

there's no correlation between super high pitch count in a previous start and poor performance in the next outing so thats meaningless

you can say whatever you want the numbers say different. he was an average pitcher last year with a 4.08 xfip and around 30th this year with a 3.49. all this=vastly overrated

With a healthy Pence, Houston's line up is fine, Bourne sets the table, Pence is border line all-star, kid a second is solid (Kep), Lee still has thunder, I like Towels bat when he's catching.

OK 1-0 early, let's go 'Stros

If Bourne and Bourgeois get on base, the stros are tough to beat against anybody

Dude, stop, I've been involved in fantasy baseball since the 90's, now I play and doing very well in daily contests, believe me, I can name from now until Friday how many good starters come off a 110 + pitch game only to follow it up with a mediocre, at best, next start.

Shields is the exception, but one of the reasons I'm on Houston, besides the fact I love the kid Lyles, is the fact there is no way in hell Lewis throws 105 + pitches tonight coming off a 120 + effort, if he does, he'll yield five runs.

He needed 26 pitches just to get out of the first.
Gentlemen's bet here says Lewis never sees the seventh tonight.

or you could just go back and look at the past 8 years and sort for every pitcher that threw 110+ in their previous start(or 120 or 125) and see the results. i've done it. i'll take the actual results going back 8 years rather than your memory

there's actually a very slight POSITIVE correlation between 126+ pitches and performance in the next start

Gentlemen's bet here says Lewis never sees the seventh tonight.

I hope so I've got the astros

I know you know Bill, Wilson tonight, Lewis tomorrow.....but anyways, I listened to the pregame show and Washington said he expects CJ to get to the 7th inning and he wouldn't be suprised if he threw 110 tonight....kinda shocked he said that myself

There is not a jet stream tonight, but the ball is carrying well still to all parts of the field. My under may be in big trouble

We are having a good back and forth here, it's all good.

Look at Timmy in SF.

On 5/21 he threw 133 pitches, he followed that up on 5/27 with a mediocre effort. (99 pitches)
Then he got shelled right after that on 6/1

Now, I'm not saying all the time, Verlander and Shields do it OK, but my point is for the most part don't expect back to back gems from starters that throw a truck load of pitches.
