Does anyone have any thoughts about how to profit from the coming legislation that will eventually legalize Sports Betting on Poker online in the US? Do you think owning the stocks of the major Casino corporations is the way to go? Or are there smaller less known companies with patents on the technology?

I think this will happen soon and would like to hear if the community has any thoughts on this.

I think it's coming sooner than we think as well.

I believe it would happen even quicker if the right people could reach Obama and explain to him the benefits the govt. would reap from online gambling.

People may not agree with how he does a lot of things, but this is the most open-minded president we have seen and are going to see for some time, because he is younger and more in tune with how things are today.
When have we ever seen or heard another president like Obama talk about filling out his NCAA tournery bracket, and mention his fantasy football team?
If it's going to get done, it's probably going to have to be while he's in office...

Sportsbetting will never be legalized because the NFL, MLB, NBA will fight against it.

Obama can't make laws, he works in the executive branch of our government.

The legislative branch of our government writes laws, the executive branch can either approve or disapprove a new law.

Even if Trump were President right now he could not do anything but ask the congress to send him a bill to legalize internet gambling. and congress would laugh and laugh.

WashingtonD.C. passed a bill legalizing online poker in D.C. awhile back. The law was not challenged by either the No Justice for Americans Dept, headed by Eric (im a crook) Holder....neither was the law challenged by Congress which could have filed an objection and choose not too.

All we need is someone to step up to the plate and start a site and FORCE the Govt to come up with regulations....Its already as legal as it can get. There is NO specific law against online poker as far as federal law goes and the 2 times they have had a chance to block it they didnt even file an objection..

As far as who to invest in to reap the profits, that wont be known to the last second but your best bet will be a worldwide corporation with WH connections....such as GE. Past gaming experiance will mean nothing....the bribes and cronies will win in the end..

Online gambling will most defintely be legalized one day very soon. its really a matter of the LV corporations figuring the best way to profit from it. Once that lobby gets behind it its a done deal. There is just too much potential tax revenue sitting on the sidelines. The states are pushing individually and it will hit the Federal level.

I am looking at stocks of any company that is involved in gaming or gaming technology. Also tech companies that have gaming software patents or technology. Any other idea?

Isn't gambling legal in England and Ireland? I don't see why it wouldn't work here, doesn't seem to bother sports over there.

pretty soon i think you will be able to walk into a "virtual" MGM casino...an online site where you can play table games or gamble in the sportsbook all under the control of the actual MGM casino in Vegas. It makes perfect sense. The brand recognition gives instant credibility and if they are smart with it it can drive action to the actual hotel in Vegas.

the people that flock to vegas arent going to stop coming because they can gamble online...people like us on this site still love the live action and atmosphere. this is a winning combination and I am sure it will happen....i have some money available and i am just looking for the best way to cash in on this..

And every right-wing politician who wants to call themselves "conservative" and "pro-family values." Even hinting that you might be in favor of any form of legal gambling is a quick way to lose favor with the evangelicals, and the evangelicals swing a big political stick right now.

if they legalize sportsbetting do everything you can to become a 'licensed' sportsbroker. Sell yourself as an expert in sportsbetting and learn all the legitimate economic terms associated with standard investing and go for it.

I am sure if sportsbetting becomes legal all the touts that have been pushed into the cesspools they crawled from will be back and better than ever selling their expertise to the new flock of saps...err clientele looking to become sports investors.
