I've been playing craps for forty years and the biggest mistake I see players make (other than not having a clue how to play) is not charting the table before playing.
I've see many, many players walk in off the street right up to a table, buy in and start playing without knowing if the table is cold, choppy, warm or hot. Stupid!
Chart the table before playing and craps can be the best game in a casino.
Bullshit.
Charting the table does absolutely nothing to change the house edge, nor is
it a predictor of future events. I.e. "cold, choppy, warm or hot."
Stupid is thinking that "charting" a table makes any difference at all.
charting a Crap table ??? No Sir !
and Ted.... Yes you can watch and jump in at a BJ Table because the cards are running Hot. You can jump in at a crap table when it's hot. but in Craps the Dice are passed around ( You really can jump in at a Hot Roller ) but doesn't mean the table.
There could be a Hot roller that now Craps out.... What's the Next guy going to do ???
When I am referring to a hot craps table, I am not referring to a hot roller only, but one that is hot roller after roller until the table turns cold. I wouldn't try to squeeze in on a table just with one roller that happens to be hot, but watch the table for a short while looking for a realitively stable table (neither particularly hot or cold) and then move in when I notice the table beginning to warm up. It usually stays warm through a few rollers before turning cold. I play with the smallest house percentage of 1.41% by betting the minimum on the pass and come lines with the maximum odds placed behind each of them. I don't play any other bet on the table because the house percentage is too high.
No Numbers ?? hmm
and Yes I play almost the same way. But I like putting up on my numbers.
I don't play the come.
I think we would get a nice table going with you, me and a few hard core Crap players.
Nope! People mistakenly believe that because they are playing the house side. They are actually the same.
interesting. i actually play the same way you do - because i never wanted to be "that guy" betting the don't pass - but always thought i was losing a tiny bit of odds for doing so. good to know i'm losing at the smallest rate possible!

While you are correct that the house edge is the same on each and every roll, we all know that crap tables, blackjack and other forms of gaming all run in hot and cold streaks. Tables that have turned cold generally have no customers at that moment while those that have turned hot are jammed with players trying to take advantage of the streak until it ends.
