    OPK trading at 3.41.

I have been buying and selling on insider info.
Never seen insider BUYING like I have seen with this stock.

Phillip Frost the CEO of the company and the founder of several successful BIOTECH companies in the past is massively buying shares on the open market in large quantities in OPK.

Frost is a multi-billionaire with a tremendous track record.

OPK has several high dollars approvals about to get approved.

Read up on it. I bought a thousand shares about a month ago in the 3.60's.

lots of buying pressure on this stock right now. The shorts are on the verge of getting squeezed.
Right now is the time to get in.

    Trust me on this.

I have spent hundreds of hours learning how to read into insider trading.
Never seen activity like this before.
Something really really big is about to happen with this stock.

Chart wouldn't mean much if big news is coming.

    Good luck, Chop.

    One thing to make clear.

Once insider buying takes place from an insider does not mean that the stock is going to soar overnight like magic.
Insiders have to be real careful when they make large purchases for fear of getting busted for trading on inside info. This means they have to make there moves early. Buying huge blocks of shares the day before big news is very illegal.

If you check the form 4 forms from Phillip Frost over the last 6 months you can see just how aggressive and bullish he has been lately.
Phillip Frost is a legendary investor that is one of the biggest players in the BIO industry. He has been involved in dozens of these companies over the years with a spotless track record. He is one of the Forbes riches people in the world.

This is no pump and dump pink sheet BS that you read about all the time.

He has bought up over 40% of OPK in the last year, and getting more and more aggressive by the day.

He is market buying millions of dollars worth of stock by the day. Just check out the form 4 files on OPK lately.

There is a pretty healthy number of short sellers on this stock that Frost is determined to run off. When this happens it will pop this stock in a large way.

Several huge approvals are on the way.
I think Mr Frost knows one of these things are going to hit big time.

For a company with such a small market cap, this could cause the stock to explode.
Mr Frost did not become one of the 100 most rich people in the world making stupid bets.

Im telling you, of the thousands of stocks I have watched in the last year I have never seen insider activity like this.
Especially from someone so well regarded.

I will give an example of what im talking about.

I bought in a month ago at an average of $3.60.
    It is $3.43 right now.
The pop will not be instant, but I do think it will be soon.
The buying by Frost is getting really, really strong.

2 days ago in addition to buying millions of shares on the open market, OPK itself just bought up 2.4 million of its own shares.

Everyone on the inside is very bullish right now, and the shorts are starting to get nervous.
Some of them are already covering there positions.

Either something really big is about to happen, or a lot of smart people who normally do not make bad decisions are going to be fooled.

I will put my money on the smart people.

Before I paste the story im about to paste below let me state that what im about to post has absolutely ZERO to do with why I buy stock.
I buy and sell everything I buy and sell 100% due to insider trading. I have learned that I will never know as much as they know so I have learned how to follow the smart people without asking any questions.

I did not even know what OPK was before I bought it.

It is easier for me to learn how to find out how to follow the insiders then it is for me to learn how to buy and sell based on fundamentals of a stock.

But for those that need to know the fundamentals I will post some info I found on whats in the OPK pipeline.

According to the presentation at Jefferies and the Annual Meeting this month, the No.1, at present, seems to be its Molecular Diagnostic and its innovative platform technology for the discovery of disease-specific antibodies.

They have evidence of a highly reliable, commercially viable blood test for Alheimers' Disease, that is able to distinguish between AD and certain other dementias.
The preliminary results indicate a high sensitivity and the test is able to detect early stage Alzheimer's.
They expect that part of the R&D will be COMPLETED LATE THIS SUMMER and they are ALREADY PLANNING FOR LAUNCHING that product.

The LUNG and PANCREATIC CANCER markers are undergoing validation trials and they expect that R&D will be complete by the 4thQ in 2012.
Those blood tests for Pancreatic Ca and NSCLC are also some very important IRONS on the FIRE.
An early diagnosis and treatment can make a BIG DIFFERENCE in the final outcome on those patients, as well as in other Cas, like in Ovarian Ca, which often times are diagnosed too late, because of the somewhat insidious onset.
In that respect, another important IRON on the FIRE is the potential THERAPEUTIC APPLICATIONS once you have identified the 'surrogate antigens', and the "proof of concept" is their research on Pemphigus.
(Remember that P.Frost is a Dermatologist.

And another important IRON on the FIRE is CURNA, which was just acquired three months ago,for $10M.
CURNA had an important place in OPKO's, last presentation, since its research also seems to have very good potential.

And still another IRON on the FIRE is Rolapitant, that at the JP Morgan presentation in January, was listed in first place.
OPKO already has had a good payback on the 2M that it paid Schering-Plough for Rolapitant.
It has already out-licensed it to Tesaro, and is expected to get $121M in payments as well as double digit royalty payments on sales and it also got 10% of Tesaro's stock.
OPKO won't have any further expenses on Rolapitant's development, since Tesaro will be paying those.
Rolapitant patent has exclusivity for 15 years.
The drug has no significant drug interactions and a single dose has a positive effect up to 5 days.
Those seem to be big advantages, especially for patients receiving chemotherapy.
There are still more IRONS on the FIRE, like the flu vaccine, the Chilean and Mexican companies, and its pulmonary products:
OPK-0018 which is its lead compound for Asthma & COPD. It is a heparin-derived sulfated disaccharide with a novel mechanism of action and no anti-coagulant effects.
The human feasibility study for asthma has been successfully completed.
It is effective orally or by inhalers/nebulizers.
The Asthma /COPD market was estimated around $26 billion in 2009.
Its SCH 900978 for Chronic Cough has completed the PII and no safety issues have been identified. It has a patent exclusivity for the next 16+ years.
And then the " other investments" :
    CoCrystal Discovery, a16% equity interest
It has a new approach to develop broad spectrum anti-viral drugs.
Sorrento Sorrento Therapeutics, a 23% equity interest
It has a new technology to produce human monoclonal antibodies libraries thatreportedly are more complete and more efficient.
    Fabrus , a 13% equity interest
It ahs technology to identify therapeutic antibody targets.
Tesaro, a 6% or 10% equity interest, as mentioned with the Rolapitant Iron.

And then there are OPKO's Ophthalmic products, that still remain important, but they are not their main focus.
That's one item that irritates the shorts that keep LIVING in the PAST.
That will be the subject of the next note.

Less then 48 hours is the lag time, and often the very next day.
    It is an SEC rule.

Yes the info is easy to find. You can find it on SEC's website or yahoo and finviz.com
There is more to just reading inside trades. You have to know WHY the trade was made, and what kind of trade.
    Exercising options do not count.
You need to learn the motive behind the purchase. You need to learn the history of the insider thats making the purchase.
Its not as simple as just reading the form 4's, but is very rewarding.

Thats why you have to learn what kind of insider buying is important.

I will give a great example. Almost every company buys shares of its own stock on a weekly basis to put in employees retirement plans. Every employee has stock options at most companies.

Im not talking about that kind of insider trading.

Im also not talking about activating options.

Im talking open market personal stock purchases.

And who is doing it, and how much, and the track record of who is buying and when.

With all that combined together I challenge anyone to find a CEO more bullish on its companies stock then Phillip Frost.

The last time I found a company with even close to the same type buying was about 3 months ago. Stock symbol HOTT. Bought at 4.75 and sold at 7.00 in less then 3 months.

I expect OPK to do even better.

From 3.41 to 3.81 in one week of trading
Stock has done nothing but go up since the thread started.

Major movement is on the way.

We are just getting started here.

Too much insider trading for it not to.

Phillip Frost for the 1st time in almost a year has been real quiet with his buy orders the last 10 trading days.

This is a textbook sign that something really big is right around the corner.

He wanted to get all his chips in before the big news to avoid any insider trading problems.
Because once he knows something thats not public and trades on it blatantly he could be subject to severe SEC problems.

If you were to ever see a textbook example of bullish insider trading and then a quiet period this is the stock.

We are up to 3.90 now from 3.41 in less then 10 trading days.

    The buying pressure is strong.
The insiders are positioned, and the shorts are on the verge of getting runoff.

What a runup at the end of the day. Thats 3 days in a row the stock closed at its day high.

Up to $3.96 now from $3.41.

You could sell now and it would be a great trade.

My suggestion would be to tighten up your stops to about $3.50 a share to lock in a nice profit.

But let this thing fly as far as we can.

All indications show we are in for something huge.

I expect to break $4 tomorrow.

Insider buying has left in the last 10 days.
Thats a good thing. That means we timed it right.
You will never see massive insider buying right before the big news hits. Too risky on the part of the insiders.
Thats what I was talking about the other day. Insider buying does not mean instant gains, it just means that something good is going to happen in the not too distant future.
The complete stopping of insider purchases all of a sudden tells me that the not too distant future could be very soon.
    The insiders are positioned now.
    Everything is in place.

    Two questions...

    1. The market has runup like 8% the last 9 days so don't you think that is carrying the stock some too and its too early to tell if your trade was a good call?

    2. Where did you learn to handicap insider buying so thoroughly?

The market has runup less then 6% the last 10 days.
OPK has runup over 18% in the same time.

Sure the overall market being higher helps all stocks.
But this stock has far and away outperformed the market.

For question number 2, I sent you a link months ago on how to do what I am doing.

We hit the 4 mark today.

Stock closes on its day high for the 4th day in a row.
No news yet to verify why this stock is going up yet.
    Im sure its coming.

Its good to get in early.
Be prepared to sell on the news.

I will be watching insider SELLING real close to figure out exit strategy.
That could be many months from now, and a long way down the line, but I will keep a close watch.

    Not much resistance before 4.20ish.

could get a really nice bounce in the coming days.

Has anyone noticed how this stock just explodes at the end of the day almost everyday?

It starts the day off a little down, then around 1PM it starts climbing, then in the last hour it just starts taking off like crazy.
This has been going on for over a week now.
I dont know what it is.

Its not insider trading. This is coming from the outside.
It happens like clockwork almost every single day.

We are up to $4.06 now

I noticed it does move late in the day. Seems to be just trickling upward daily.

I was wondering if you still follow HOTT? It had a 13% move on thurs and pulled back 5% today but its at $8 now. Was the insider buying on that from the CEO, how long did it take post insider buying spree for the move and any other info you have on that 1. I noticed you've shared a lot on this 1 so figured you probably had a lot of info on HOTT.

Also, I did read some of the book you told me about. It was ok but to be honest only a few pages really tackled insider trading in great depth.

    Anyway best of luck chop
