Overall Record: 19-5

Today's big play:

Toronto v. St. Louis

Morrow's ERA is a little over 5, but he isn't that bad of a pitcher. He got touched up in 3 particular games - giving up 9 runs to Bos, 6 runs to Cle, and 5 runs to Det - all at home. So he has had a couple of rough spots this season, but he has looked really good on the road. His road games this season:

Inn/ER
6.2/0 at Cinci
6/0 at KC
5/3 at Minn
6.1/1 at TB
6/2 at Tex

Road Total: 30 innings pitched and 6 earned runs given up.

Also, I like his matchup against the Cardinals. They aren't too familiar with Morrow. As a team, they have only seen him once which was exactly one year ago from today (Tor won 5-0). Six batters eligible to play tonight have faced him, Berkman (2 for 5) and Holliday (1 for 5) five times and the rest 3 times or less. Collectively, they are just batting .211 out of 19 ABs. Throw in the fact that Pujoles is gone. (along with Craig and Freese).

The matchup for Westbrook doesn't look favorable for the Cards. Tor eligible batters for tonight have faced him 57 times and with a batting average of .281. Really, the biggest weakness is Patterson vs. Westbrook as he has only gone 1 for 10 against him. Take away those 10 ABs and you'll have a much better batting avg (not that .281 is bad anyhow). Bautista has gone 3 for 5 against Westbrook with one homer and 3 RBIs. Hills is 4 for 9 and Lind 3 for 9. Looks Bautista, Hill and Lind have only struck out twice collectively against Westbrook. It looks like he is going to have a hard time getting through the middle of the Jays lineup.

St. Louis has won 5 of their last 15 games including a 7 game losing streak. Teams played against in this time frame including Hou, Wash, and KC - not exactly top notch teams. They are banged up all around, and their bullpen isn't that great. This is why they haven't done too hot lately. Meanwhile, Toronto is healthy and everyone should be good to go tonight. This is a good spot for them to get their offense back on track and, as stated above, looks like a good spot for Morrow.

* Toronto Blue Jays -105
