Happy Sunday Afternoon OMT. Atlanta pitching staff had struck out 40 batters in four games just prior to entering this series. Hopefully Hudson can carry over of his effectiveness from his last outing where he posted 8 K's and add to the strikeout talley. McCann has a .383 lifetime average at Petco Park along with 4 HR's and 21 RBI's and Jones and Heyward back in the lineup coming back from injuries have contributed. Even though San Diego took game one Friday Night, the Padres coming into the series were still ranked 16th in the NL for run prdouction while the Braves rank 2nd in the NL in defense. Hudson was keeping the ball down in the strikezone working the corners very well last time out. I do not see veteran catcher McCann accepting anything but an attempted repeat performance from Hudson. Jordan Shaffer can get into scoring position just about every time he gets aboard. Other than Hudson today, he will be my key player. He has been running very well in the month of June, has been consistent with the glove and a solid game from him today will greatly improve Atlanta's chance to peg back to back wins after Friday's loss in Game 1. Atlanta bullpen has the one two punch of Kimbrel and Venters to rely on also to protect a lead. Atlanta aloso knows a win today keeps them only four back from Philadelphia in the division. Hudson's expected control, Braves defense, Shaffer in scoring position, Atlanta bullpen, combined should enable Atlanta to make you smile OMT by approximately 7:00 EST.

Thank you for the right up. Just a couple of comments. McCann is not starting today as he is getting some rest following a night game. Secondly, Hudson is 5-0 against the Padres. Luebke is a reliever being given a start for the Padres.

SportsOptions indicates the Padres have been steamed and the current line on the Braves is -118. Don't understand the movement at all. Should have waited as it would have cost me less! Enjoy the game my friend! :toast:

Wow OMT Luebke is mowing them down left and right so far. Maybe Braves can touch him during the second round of the order. Holy Molly what a double play to get the lead runner coming in. Looks like a beautiful day for a MLB game in Southern California this afternoon. Quick game also as already through 2 complete innings.

As I said, Luebke is a reliever (short) and although he looked good the first 2 innings, he is struggling in the third with control. That was a great double play. Home to first. As for San Diego weather, it is beautiful this time of year.

Hudson had a few issues early but has managed to still have a shut out going. Last two innings have seen him have more control and some strikeouts and few calls go his way from the home umpire. Would love to Alex Gonzales and Freddie Freeman come alive today and contribute. Braves just seem to swim upstream against left handed pitching but will just have to be pateint and see what opportunities come their way.

I noticed that Hudson didn't seem to have his best early but looked good the last inning. Luebke is finished with relievers expected next inning. So let's see how the Braves hitters do against the Padres bullpen. This game reminds me of the Virginia/South Carolina duel the other day.

Hope Atlanta goes with the Bullpen now OMT before Hudson happens into a jam that finally scores a run for San Diego. Braves can't put wood on ball today so far. Maybe it will come in gushes here in the latter third of the game. It better.

Hudson is threw. He's thrown 104 pitches. Don't expect to see him in the 7th. Padres changing to a right hander now. Think this may help the Braves bats come alive. Keep the faith.

Braves love to keep us living by the skin of our teeth with these incredible late inning jams they continue to escape. Going to have put wood on ball at some point or odds are luck and time may run out. Let's go Atlanta just need one man in scoring position to make bid for go ahead lead.

Hey OMT you think I should grab the giants now at -146 or do you think I should wait to see what happens to the line?

Big escape in the bottom of the 7th. This game has all the makings of 0-0 into extra innings. Get your snacks ready.

How about that! Atlanta 1-0! @):)

Actually, it was a mishandled ball in the outfield. Not sure Hinske would have scored with a clean play.
