So what does everyone think about game two tonight between FL and SC? SC stunned Florida last night by holding off late rallies and coming back to win in extra innings 2-1. It was a really gritty effort for SC that has really defined their team the entire season.

Would be really tough to not see SC closing this thing out in 2 games now. They have all of the momentum, the Florida players just looked demolished after last night, SC has won 15 straight postseason games and thinks they can't lose, and SC has their ace Michael Roth on the mound who has the best ERA in the country. On paper at least, SC should win this one tonight and close it out.

But...Florida was the obvious favorite yesterday on paper as well and then they missed out on their opportunities and SC showed their normal killer instinct when it mattered. Roth has given up one earned run in his last six starts, and the SC defense is absolutely rock solid. If they have the lead after 6-7 innings, the ballgame is over because Taylor and Price have been so solid this year.

Florida has Whiston going, but he has yet to pitch seven full innings in a start this year as a true freshman. Brian Johnson will be a key wildcard, as I imagine FL will try to get everything they can from Whitson and then try to have Johnson get them to the 8th with a lead. Johnson really struggled down the stretch of the SEC season and hasn't pitched in a month since being hit in the head, so how does he do in his first Omaha appearance? He was rocked back in March by this same SC squad.

Also how will Roth bounce back on 3-days rest? He only threw 91 pitches which is pretty low for one of his starts, and he's such a competitor that you have to think he is close to 100% and if he can get them through 6 innings with the lead, the championship will be won. Zuzino looked to be swinging a better bat late in the game, and he had 3 hits off Roth back in March.

If SC was in this 0-1 hole, I wouldn't have second thoughts about forcing a game three because they are so battle tested, but how will Florida respond after being so heart-broken last night? Florida responded nicely against Mississippi State in their super regional in this exact spot, but that was at home against an inferior opponent. This is the defending champs smelling blood with their best pitcher on the mound (who happens to have an ERA under 1.00), so the odds would definitely seem to be stacked against FL to win game two.

So who wins game two?

As a S. Car. diehard alumni and baseball player, it it easy for me to be a homer and say SC wins this ballgame. But, I just can't do that. This team doesn't want to lose, and they may not. I have them at 9 to 1 odds to win the CWS before the regionals even started and at 5.5 to 1 when thee CWS started. I also had FLa at 7 to 1 befoore the Regionals, so Im sitting pretty. I hit last night with SC +125 as well. So, on to tonight...

Im seeing things a little different. Either team could win this ballgame, and all things point to it being a game like last night again. However, the best bet for this game IMO is the plus money on the Over 8.5. I have it in already. Even though the ace is on the mound, I see the bats getting a little hot tonight, and a decent scoring shootout. Taylor has been good all year, but if he comes in tonight, for some reason, I see him giving up some runs. Im going with a 5-4 or 6-4 type of ballgame. I'll lay off the side for tonight, but gun too head, prob chancce it with Fla. Enjoy the game as it should be a great one, and GO COCKS!!

Hey Matty-

Good info. I'm struggling with the total because of Roth. The guy has only given up one earned run in his last six starts, and with the way the SC defense has been playing, I don't see them making a bunch of errors. Plus the SC offense just seems like they are built to play close games and not really blow a team out. SC has only played over a total of 8.5 twice in Roth's last nine starts. For Florida, I could see SC scoring 3-4 off Whitson in the first few innings and then scoring a few off the FL bullpen, but it just seems like their offense wakes up when its a close game and if they are already up 5-0, they might just shut it down and coast. Both teams have such outstanding arms, and I think Florida has been just waiting to bust out in Omaha...but it's Roth.

So i'm really stuck on the side and total. Congrats on your futures odds, your sittin pretty...

I've rode the South Carolina train threw the entire postseason and made a bundle off of them until last night. I was on Florida but with what I saw last night it is hard to lay down any money against the cocks right now. They just don't lose.

I took the no score in the first inning prop. I feel that Roth will be able to keep the Gators in check and I'm not seeing alot of offense from the Cocks either. In a low scoring game in general I feel this prop has a very strong chance of coming in, first inning will be tight!
