THE AL EAST is somewhat overrated..........even I realize this, and as mentioned, I'm an idiot.

Come on Fish were not even at the all-star break.
They'll be fine baseball is a streaky sport.
They've been making dumb mistakes that's all.

Dude, they just got mowed down by the hottest pitcher in baseball. They started the season 2-13.....a little premature post.

This is just the time of the year where nothing else is going on and fans are overreacting as they usually do. They will both be there in the end to battle it out.

All 3 of the Top Three AL East teams have had their Bumps in the Road.
AL East Overrated ?? NO it has been the Toughest Div in the AL of Years

they all have More wins than the Rest of the AL

Philly were the Top rated Team of MLB going into the Season, so for the Red Sox to Lose to them and Cliff Lee is No Shame IMHO

they lost 2 out of 3 to the padres, 2 out of 3 to the pirates, now game 1 of the philly series... they are like 3-7 or 4-6 in their last 10, they are slumping, still a good team

red sox pitching is overrated though, yankees have a better team ERA and better SP ERA, so all the people who think the sox is so much better then the yankees rotation, numbers say its not... garcia, colon, CC all have ERAs of 3.20 and under, nova pitching well lately, burnett hot and cold but can be dominant, and hughes our 18 game winner last year is coming off the DL in a week

Hughes is the shittiest 18 game winner I can ever remember, not arguing, just saying......hell Scott Freaking Feldman won 17 games 2 years ago for Texas.....pitcher win/loss column could very well be the most overrated stat in all of sports, especially for gamblers who look at that stat

The Bosox season may come down to the right hand of one Tim Wakefield and the pesky bat of Kevin Youklis.

Lackey has to get it going as well imo. He is one of my favorite pitchers, but the guy has been awful in a Red Sox uniform.

Awful may be a complment...........

I would classify it as "dreadfully grave".
