Year To Date Record: (22-21-1)(-11.45)

5* (1-3)(-13.60)
1* (21-18-1)(+2.15)

Finally coming off a (1-0)(+5.00) evening winning with my 5* play on San Francisco (-106)(6-3) behind the return of Barry Zito. Coming right back today with another strong play on the Giants behind Tim Lincecum. In his last outing, he spent extra time warming up in the bullpen before the game to assure that he had complete control of all his pitches before stepping on the mound. After 4 previous poor starts, his extra work had him sharp right out of the gate, giving up no runs, 3 hits and striking out 12. I expect him to do the same tonight. The Giants as a unit are currently making a concerted push before the All Star break and are extremely focused and on a 7 game winning streak. For those of you who wonder why I play the Giants so often, it is because I watch them everyday and read and listen to everything that goes on in the local media. I try to take advantage when they are playing at their best level which IMHO they currently are doing. You can win many games on a streak but lose only once.

5* San Francisco (-130) betonline

Good luck everyone!

BOL with you Giants today OMT. My coffee buddy who I call Bingo Lady because she plays Bingo at the local supermarket most weekdays once lived in San Fransico. She said she lived on O Keary Street in the Mission District. I think she refered to it as the Tenderloin Area. She said she worked for the Federal Reserve Bank during the 60's when she lived there. Bingo Lady, whose real name is Joanne, is fun to chat with in the mornings. She keeps up to speed with all the developements in the Casey Anthony Trial. Hope those Giants continue to post wins and play solid baseball.

Interesting but I'll have to stay with the two time C.Young award winner coming off an impressive outing on a team that has won 7 in a row and is playing excellent team baseball and beginning to show the same signs I saw last year in September and October. Best of luck whatever you decide tonight! :toast:

Thank you! Interesting story about your coffee buddy. A little confusing though as the Tederloin District (named for prostitution) and the Mission District are not even near each other. Haven't heard of O Keary Street, but maybe she meant Geary. No matter. I too hope the Giants continue to win.

Did you know the Giants are the worst hitting team in the National League but are 12 games over .500 and in first place 2.5 games ahead of Arizona? This team is comprised of interchangeable parts and IMHO Bochy has done his best managing ever in making the correct moves, starting line-ups and taking care of his players. Losing Buster Posey and Freddy Sanchez could have doomed this team but instead I see very strong resolve as this team once again is extremely close and cover each other's backs and are focused currently at playoff level very similiar to last September and October. The pitching staff is even better then last year with the additional maturity of the starters, the addition of Vogelsong and a bullpen that has no weakness. If their hitting woes start to turn around, this team will become extremely difficult to beat. Nobody believed in them last year at they took out Atlanta 3-1, Philadelphia 4-2 and Texas 4-1. Currently, their only real weakness is at catcher where Whiteside can't hit and his fielding pitches and throwing is suspect and his back-up Stewart is a rookie, who also can't hit, but is gradually improving, however defensively is a gem with stopping pitches in the dirt and has a cannon for an arm. He will be Posey's back-up in the future and I wouldn't be surprised if he took over the starting spot this season at some point. Wouldn't mind seeing the Giants pick up Ivan Rodriquez before the trade deadline. He's been on World Series Champions before and is a leader.

Anyway, as you can tell, I am once again stoked at the way this team plays together each and everyday. No stars. Just grinders that play together. I'll take that any day over a star laced team. Remember, the Dallas Mavericks took down the Miami Heat.

Best of luck to you tonight! :toast:
