I want to apologize to any posters who are aggravated by the rash of bumped very old threads appearing here in the Baseball Forum recently.. I know they can be misleading or confusing to some (including me).

Should anyone care for me to mark them in the thread title as old bumped threads simply email me the thread title and the forum name such as Baseball or Horse Racing etc Forum (in case you find one in another forum) and email it to me at person19481950@yahoo.com.

Please title the email "Old Thread Bumped". All email will be kept confidential..I will edit the thread title asap..

Thank you and please accept my apologies for the situation if the threads bother you..

Thanks, wilheim..

I didnt have a issue with them personally. Kinda showed a way of how things changed since that time to me.

I know some don't mind them but I get dozens of complaints by either direct email or Report a Post from various posters..Bad enough the Offshore Forum is saturated with them now I have to spend a half hour every morning hunting these things down on other forums..

Yeah well.......I think everyone who's been here for awhile ought to bump an old classic thread every now and then.......no matter how painful to the newbie's eyes here at the ol' Rx. The "Newbies" need to realize the Rx has been around for some time and keeps a good recording of all the drama over the years. A time capsule if you will. There is some sound advice and some funny ass shit to knock your socks off that should never be deleleted from history. A bump every now and then is a bit refreshing, if you ask me.

Thanks for addressing this- it's just plain weird that 5team keeps bumping random useless threads.

Can't count the number of times I have read great bump, classic thread, oops what was I thinking etc...

Many of the most replied to and most read threads were ones that were bumped.

Inhave also helped many many posters find threads they have been looking for as well.

I come here to blow off steam as I see/deal to about 200 degenerate poker players a day going on 20 years, and I still have a passion for gambling, and its history....

Sorry if anyone has suffered...

Do we really need 20 Johnny Damon threads??? Or another new thread about Carlos Marmol sucking, an Albert Pujols Home Run, Juan Pierre in the HOF or LeBron fizzling????? I think not...

I dont have a problem with a potential "classic" thread being bumped or a thread being bumped to look at as a time capsule , but when somebody starts a thread about a player or team being in a slump (usually titled sux) and then a month later when the player or team gets hot , the thread gets bumped for no apparent reason other than to make the original poster look bad. .... and those are not "classic" threads , nor is it a time capsule.

New Icon added to designate old thread.

FYI - I just added this icon to use when an old thread gets bumped.

5teamparlay is a corner stone of the rx IMO ............If you don't like his bumps ........don't open them .
Its not like its cluttering up the forum / rooms , this is a slow time for sports betting ..............

i think that every hitter in the majors and every pitcher has had a slump in the last 5 years and someone with money on their team starts a thread about how he sucks...is done...hows he still in the majors etc and has 5 concuring replys by pissed off guys with money lost because of him...now he has a good day...a walkoff...a 3 hit day....3bombs in 2 games....and up comes the old thread which really just says you guys dont know dick...look at him today...240 hitters makes for one a day and it gets old....so dont look at tghem right? but they show the original poster not 5team parlay so u dont no till u start reading...just annoying...

Sometimes cornerstones become old and rotted. At that point they are replaced or potentially banned to the rubber room.

I have been on another vbull board that uses the same software as therx that automatically changes the color code of any thread that is over a year old to a different color.

Maybe wil should talk to the tech staff about this.
It is in the software to automatically do what wil is doing manually.
You just have to activate it

I woke up reading a couple old threads, it brought me back to the old party days, now I feel like doing lines off a naked stripper, not sure that's suffering though:hyper:

Absolutely idiotic bringing up these old threads, except maybe to see a lot of quality cappers that no longer post here

As opposed to spending all that time deleting or fixing these useless old threads, you could just tell the one idiot who's doing it to stop or his posting rights will be taken away. Just an idea....
