I would say 99.9% of everyone that reads this forum was born after television became mainstream meaning that we all have a hard time relating to a world without TV.

But lets just try to go back in time with our imagination to a world without TV.

Only news you could get was from the newspaper thats at least 24 hours old if you were lucky, or from AM radio.

The only way you could know what Babe Ruth looked like is if you went to a game or saw some grainey b&w picture from a newspaper.

Instead of sitting around a television and watching a show, people sat around a radio listening to audio shows.

We are talking about a time period that was just getting used to having light bulbs in there house all of a sudden seeing live moving pictures of real people from all around the world.

I bet this was amazing to people back then. I bet people were in awe the first time they saw a tv.

I bet they were even in more awe then the first time I was able to turn on a computer and check the weather, or get a sports score.

Compare that to around 91 or 92 when the internet became mainstream.
At least for internet I can compare my life before internet and after internet.
This is something I cant do with TV since I was born with it.

But I cannot imagine not having internet.

I do know that internet is more important to me then tv, but that is not my question.

Which invention was the most life changing?

I have not wrote a check in 10 years. I have not bought a postage stamp in over 10 years.

I can buy and sell stocks instantly. I can talk to friends and family from around the world instantly and see there faces.

I can get reviews on any product I want to buy from hundreds of people instantly.

I dont know how I ever got by without it.

But still, that does not mean the internet changed the world more then TV.

What is your opinion?

But remember you have to put yourself in the shoes of people who never had a television.
That is very hard for us to do.

tv provides information and entertainment.

The internet provides jobs, the ability to do anything and everything, keep in touch with the rest of the world.

Internet, imo is the greatest invention of all time.

Supercedes, the automobile, electricity, the telephone, airplane and and anything else.

The TV has changed our culture
The internet has changed the way we do things.

That is a good way to look at it.

Hands down the Internet.
Tv was a huge advancement
but the amount of information
available on the Internet is endless.

I was going along with you until you said electricity.
If not for electricity what are you going to power your computer with to get on the internet?
Nothing was greater then electricity.
It will always be the #1 invention/discovery of all-time.
