just because you lied about the details of what happened doesnt mean you actually murdered someone

if she did not murder then why lie? anyone who is innocent does not lie ..
yeah I think she did it, but they didn't prove what they tried to get her on. The DA was a little overzealous here, there should have been a deal here for a lesser offense.

This is where we agree. Most cases like this don't go to trial. A certain amount of guilt is agreed to, and each side goes on their merry way. But when you get trials with this much publicity, it can be a dangerous thing for the prosecution because as a rule sequestered juries hold the prosecuter to a higher standard than what they would under normal circumstances.

I'm NOT "eating" a box of popcorn while this Travesty Unfolds.

This is a Very sad Story to say the least.

I just Don't believe that "She" did it. IMHO I think it was the father.... and Casey just covered it, or Helped Cover it.

they certainly didn't proved 1st degree murder. They didn't even have a case for 1st degree murder

"an unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated"

but she seems like a scumbag and she was somehow involved in the death, whatever the cause

I concur with the posters who suggested negotiated settlement

countless people lie during murder investigations for various reasons. Once you start lieing they build on each other and just continue to grow and grow. its a slippery slope

something thats very important to remember here is that we should NEVER give the government any advantage in trials against its citizens..especially when the state is looking to kill someone for a crime they are accused of..think about this for a moment without getting lost in the salacious details of this particular case..we need to be protected as citizens from the government and their unlimited resources..if the state wants to kill a person and wants my consent they better damn well prove beyond and possibility of doubt the guilt of that person..in this case they just did not do that..she is a liar, whore, slut, worthless scumbag BUT there is no way we can allow our government to kill a person or lock them away for life on just circumstance....we cant get caught up in our feelings for this particular case and shove aside the principals of the judicial system..if we do that because of the gruesome nature of this case then we will be opening the door for the state to run roughshod over its citizens in the future..i feel for this little girland her family so much but our freedoms and protection from government is more important than any one case...just my 2 cents

Absolutely absurd. Our legal system practically encourages breaking the law. All you have to do is keep your mouth shut, and any defense attorney worth his salt can get 1 shmuck out of 12 to have a "reasonable" doubt. Never see any convictions anymore unless the person confessed or got caught on video.

Just shows how jurors take the 'beyond a shadow of a doubt' way too far. Combine that with a lack of juror intelligence and she walks. Anyone with half a brain knows that she was guilty, good thing for her that I wasn't on that jury. One sliver lining is that we won't have to hear much about this skank after another month or so.
