As you probably know, Tiger Woods has pulled out of The Open Championship next week as he continues to rehab from recent injuries. Another golfer is also on the disabled list -- more because of stupidity than anything else. Thomas Levet won the French Open golf tournament last weekend, making the Frenchman a national hero and qualifying him to play in next week's British Open. To celebrate his victory he jumped into a water pond near the 18th green. Taking such a dive has become very popular with many players at certain events. However, that may be changing soon. Levet broke a shin bone when he jumped into the pond and, as a result, will not be able to play at Royal St. George's.

That's one less European to worry about. Not that any American golfer had a chance to win anyway.
