In a earlier thread I was asked to give a update on my WSOP experience.

This is the fifth year in a row that I have decided to spend a couple of weeks at the wsop.

Wsop sanctioned tournaments- between the bracelet events and daily events I have played 13 tournaments I am out of pocket a little over 15k. I have made 2 deep runs in events, and 5 deep runs in the daily for a grand total of 22.7k. The daily is a horrible structure but also has the most horribly fishy field.

Non swop sanctioned tournaments- mainly the venetian and caesars deepstack- the field is definitely a little more skilled than the swop daily players, the structure is alot better too. I have played 7 of these with just over 2800 invested. I made a top 5 cash twice and a deep run once for a grand total of 12.3k return. These tournaments are the best bang for your buck, and come highly recommended for the professional and casual player alike. I wish I had the time to play these for the whole series of deepstack events.

Cash- the action at the Aria and Rio has been exceptional. Unfortunately with the full schedule of tournaments I haven't been able to grind many long sessions. I have played 9 sessions of 6+ hours equally spread between the 2/5 nl and 5/10 nl tables. The first three sessions had me -4200, a bad case of runbad. The following 5 sessions netted me a profit of +5400 so we are getting back on track. My roomie has played almost exclusively Rio 5/10 nl and is on a he'll of a run. He is + 31k and routinely grinds 8,9,10+ hours a day with only 1 negative day so far.

The action is as great, if not better than the previous years, WHAT BLACK FRIDAY??? recession????

Another note... The rio amazon room is starting to smell like a amazon. Atleast a third of the players here are absolutely disgusting. Take a shower guys!

What's with all the morbidly obese guys in motorized wheelchairs. I understand that poker is a out of shape mans sport, but come on guys! I played cash next to a late twenties kid that had to be 450 lbs, I watched him finish off a 2.5 lbs bag of peanut butter m&ms along side of at least 8 mountain dews in one session. Blaaaaat!

The bash? Or before then? I'm going home to get caught up on work for a few weeks but plan on returning for a couple of weeks soon.

What style do you play mostly awm? Or your roomie too, for that matter?

Both of us play a variation of TAG poker in both tournaments and cash play. Trying to generalize a style is very hard because you have to constantly change gears and adapt to the table (or blinds in mtt.) very generally speaking though, A variation of TAG poker is what I usually play.

Looking forward to playing with you, so at least one person at the table will be playing as bad as I do.
Good luck awmllc, seems like you're having fun and aren't burned out yet.

aug 19 20 is the bash ... hope you make the bash

I might just be there during that time, I have become good friends with the poker room manager at aria during this trip. He has set up 2 single table tournaments for me and some friends that are in town for the wsop. He will supply the table and dealers if we can get together 10 of us to play. He will do this for a very reasonable rake if we give him a 8 hour heads up. I know there isn't a official bash tournament, but we could have our own unofficial bash tournament. If it's only 10 players I would imagine I could talk him into transportation too.

We could Let the group decide the buy in. He would like to know at least 8 hours in advance, so he can schedule a dealer.
