In a earlier thread I was asked to give a update on my WSOP experience.
This is the fifth year in a row that I have decided to spend a couple of weeks at the wsop.
Wsop sanctioned tournaments- between the bracelet events and daily events I have played 13 tournaments I am out of pocket a little over 15k. I have made 2 deep runs in events, and 5 deep runs in the daily for a grand total of 22.7k. The daily is a horrible structure but also has the most horribly fishy field.
Non swop sanctioned tournaments- mainly the venetian and caesars deepstack- the field is definitely a little more skilled than the swop daily players, the structure is alot better too. I have played 7 of these with just over 2800 invested. I made a top 5 cash twice and a deep run once for a grand total of 12.3k return. These tournaments are the best bang for your buck, and come highly recommended for the professional and casual player alike. I wish I had the time to play these for the whole series of deepstack events.
Cash- the action at the Aria and Rio has been exceptional. Unfortunately with the full schedule of tournaments I haven't been able to grind many long sessions. I have played 9 sessions of 6+ hours equally spread between the 2/5 nl and 5/10 nl tables. The first three sessions had me -4200, a bad case of runbad. The following 5 sessions netted me a profit of +5400 so we are getting back on track. My roomie has played almost exclusively Rio 5/10 nl and is on a he'll of a run. He is + 31k and routinely grinds 8,9,10+ hours a day with only 1 negative day so far.
The action is as great, if not better than the previous years, WHAT BLACK FRIDAY??? recession????
