You were correct about him hitting in batting practice. 83-58 YTD

lol hello? How did you think they were doing the home run derby this year? You think they were switching it up to an in-game situation?

And you can save the "batting practice" BS, Cano has hit 25 and 29 HR the last two years, along with 15 so far this year.
Which is exactly 1 more HR over each of those time periods than Holliday has hit (24, 28, 14). Holliday, the guy you place two wagers on.

So what else ya got? Can't wait to hear the next excuse.

Cano is only a great HR hitter in batting practice as evidenced by him never hitting 30 HR in a season. I was totally wrong on Cano in the HR Derby, I have admitted that. I underestimated him. It's funny though that you're jumping on someone who at least went out there and made picks. You didn't even make a thread where you put your neck out there.

I didn't bet the derby because it's usually a bad idea.

So a guy hits 29 HR in a year and he's not a great home run hitter, but if he hits 30 then he is?
You're lost, and have been all day.

Rare to see a poster admit being wrong without attacking or being ultra defensive post admission, classy man, just had to say it. Cheers bud

You're kidding right?
He's thrown in some BS about only in batting practice in every post he admitted he was wrong.

I was wrong, I thought that someone else would hit more HR's. I still don't believe that he's an elite/great/or even good in game HR hitter. But I was 100% wrong today, all the way around.

or even good in game HR hitter.
See, there you go again.

A guy who's hit 25 and 29 HR the last two years, in THIS post steroid day and age, and who is on pace for another 29-30 HR this year, is absolutely, 100%, a "good in game HR hitter". Period.

He had the 9th most HR IN ALL OF BASEBALL last year. How is that not a good in game HR hitter? You're delusional.

Add in the fact that he plays the power-lite position of 2B, and he becomes an "elite in game HR hitter".
Very very few guys hit 30 HR nowadays. Anyone who does, is at a minimum, a good in game HR hitter. To say anything else is not understanding the game.

cano is a line drive hitter, 90% of his balls are line drives and if they go out, they go out he is a stud hitter who hits over .300 3 times so far in his young career and will do it this year too along with 30 homers and 120 rbis

I believe that he is capable of winning multiple batting titles, and that he's a great hitter (for average). Just b/c you play a certain position, it will not ever make a a good HR hitter. You can't say that he will hit 30 HR's this year b/c he could break his neck in a plane crash going back to New York. He hasn't hit 30 HR's yet in his career, and he plays half of his games in a stadium with a short porch to his pull side. I'm not changing my opinion on this just b/c you want to stick up for a player on your favorite team.

no i dont care about your opinion, this is a message board to discuss opinions and have debates... i can care less if you dont think cano is a good hitter or not... but to say he isnt a good HR hitter is nuts, at age 27 he hit 29 homeruns....so say he ups it by 1 for the next 5 years....he is a 34 homerun hitter with a career average of .300, pretty good if you ask me

First of all, I'm mo Yankee fan at all.

Second, if you think hitting 30 HR makes you a "great" HR hitter but that hitting 29 doesn't even make you a "good" HR hitter (something you have said) then you're more lost than I thought.

Third, he's out homered Holliday in each of the last two seasons, and so far this season. I guess Holliday isn't a good HR hitter either. You probably shouldn't have put multiple beys on him huh?

You're. Lost.
And grasping at straws.

I don't give a shit what you think, and I would also say that Holliday is not a good HR hitter either.
