Not betting on it, but this is my opinion on the subject.

I think I picked Bobby Abreu in 06 or so for 12 or 15 to 1 on this forum.

Good luck with your selections.

i agree, his swings are made for the HR derby, i go to 70 yankees games a year and watch batting practice everyday and him and kevin long have hr derby drills during BP...literally he launches balls out in batting practice at will

its a joke? really...and red sox having a wall that is 220 ft into the outfield is legit right? every stadium is built different, yankees stadium is not a joke...go check the numbers on yankees HR total home and away, it is about EVEN....go check the HR totals for opposing teams that play in yankees stadium and at their own home ball park...it isnt that much of an advantage opposing teams do not have many HR in yankees stadium

He's not a big guy, he could burn out.. Usually better to go with the stocky players.

50% of the HRs hit by the Yankees in the new Yankee stadium would not have been HRs in Citi Field. That's from ESPN coverage of the Subway series.

45% actually and citi field has one of the biggest right fields in baseball and the porch to hit the homerun is about 25 feet......that is why, do not compare stadiums

Wow, great info.
This is the same reason I took Abreu in 06. I remember seeing Abreu just send everything over the wall pitch after pitch in BP.
A BP swing is different from a game swing.
I hear Ichiro could win the HR derby if he ever entered one.

I agree with bumpy, Yankees really are the joke...they build a stadium thats smaller than high school feilds, they put in seats that you cant see the whole feild, you have to take out a second mortage to go to a Yankee game, and to me why would you like a team that buys championships like the yankees, i mean what pride is that when your payroll is 3-4 times as much as half the teams....Yankees would be the Oakland Raiders/Washington Redskins of the NFL...sorry I am not a yankee hater by any means either, just a little rediculous how they operate.

its pretty sad when a team can pay 1 player 30 mil, when another teams ENTIRE payroll is 35 mil.

they should atleast have a salary cap, then we'd really get to see how bad that management is.

A completely cherry picked statement, and really more of a reflection on Citi field than Yankee Stadium.

A salary cap sure would solve a lot of free agent problems insted of all the stars waiting to see what the yankees will offer them.

Of course it's cherry picked, but true nonetheless. However it's an equal reflection on Citi Field and the new Yankee Stadium

A cherry picked statement provides very little usefulness in an evaluation, if any.

It provides nothing to the breakdown of the derby.

When you make an point for an argument, you don't use statements that conflict your thesis. It is my opinion that Cano benefits from playing a small ball park.

Kind of a common sense statement though. What does that have to do with taking batting practice (HR derby) in another live yard (Arizona)?
Nothin.

Also comparing ANY park's right field to Citi Field will give you the results of.....Citi Field is bigger.
Just sayin, it provides very little other than Yankee hate, which is fine I guess. Good times.
