HookEm, can you give me an explanation on this play? I'm just curious. I NEVER question your plays and play all of your big plays....i'd just like to know a small reason when i put my $ down on the Twins. I hope they rock the Indians and my WHITE SOX get another victory tonight!

Also wondering. Twins couldn't hit Carmona or David Huff yesterday at home. Also Twins struggled at times hitting lousy KC pitching. Masterson is the best starter they've seen in a while. On the other hand, Twins might get a must-win effort from Liriano. This game might go under.

Thanks for all of your responses. A few would like my reasoning on selecting the Twins tonight:

Pitching:

Who has the better record in the past 10 games - Liriano or Masterson? Believe it or not - it’s Liriano. Liriano is 4-3 while Masterson is 3-4

Recent notable stats: Liriano is 3-1 since mid June after coming back from shoulder problems. 3-0 record at home with a 3.24 ERA. He went 7 innings and gave up 1 ER in his last outing.

Lifetime, Masterson is 0-4 vs. Twins with a 4.37 ERA. He has got little run support in these games as well.

Batting:

While Cleveland put up 5 and 6 runs yesterday, they don’t exactly have the Yankees lineup. Hafner, Indian’s biggest deep ball threat, is not in tonight. Choo and Sizemore are hurt. All of their big long ball threats are gone with exception to Santana. The lineup: Brantley LF, O. Cabrera 2B, A. Cabrera SS, Santana 1B, LaPorta DH, Kearns RF, Hannahan 3B, Marson C, Carrera CF, (Masterson P)

Minnesota started out the year banged up and had problems. After a shaky start, they have been putting it together. It takes time to make adjustments when several players go down. Despite poor offensive outings yesterday, the Twins have looked much better going into the all star break. I expect them to get their act together tonight as all healthy starters will be in. Minn starting lineup: Revere CF, Casilla 2B, Mauer 1B, Cuddyer RF, Thome DH, Valencia 3B, Young LF, Nishioka SS, Buttera C, (Liriano P)

Misc:

Minn has won 21 out of last 30 games against the Indians at home.
Minn also leads the season series 4-3. They have won 9 out of last 12 dating to last season. 5-2 of those at home.
Cleveland is a below .500 team on the road 24-26. Indians are on their 7th consecutive road game - maybe a little road fatigue to consider?
Despite a poor start to the season, Minn has improved their home record above .500

I believe these are all of the main points I have considered in my selection.
