The world is in an economic slump, and millions are suffering, but the key to success is simple, USE YA DAMN BRAINS, here we have solutions already posted here on the RX.

Take a few minutes into a hour or two, and save hundreds monthly at the supermarket, do the coupon thing, read up about it, google it, or bing if you want, heck read the posts at the RX.

Some guy got a $330,000. house for $16, he certainly did his homework, and its certainly legal. Will he be able to keep it, who knows but so far its his. Im sure there are other deals out there like Sheriff sales, Auctions etc. You just have to do your research.

You can go to some colleges practically free, research it.

You can get designer perfumes, watches, clothing, at 60/70/80 percent off the regular prices, research it.

Get you Meds sent from canada for much lower cost than the US, research it.

You can travel to fancy destinations for little to nothing, research it.

You can rent cars from 8 or 9$ per day, research it.

You can drive a new car with no deposit, insurance covered by your credit card, and rental agency, for months at around 500 per month, research it (the benefit in this is no deposit) and driving a new vehicle, and can switch to another vehicle every month if you wish, RESEARCH IT

The list goes on, and on,
If theres a will (to save money) theres a way(to save money)

WE LOVE YOU AMERICA!!

I appreciate your insight but why do ANY of the above things make the US the best place to live?? It seems that your whole outlook on why the US is the best is based on getting things and services for little or no money.

America is great for many reasons including some of the things you mention. But we also have to be careful. There are very powerful forces at work looking to take away the real reasons why America has been the greatest country on the planet.

if you travel or live in the other countries you would know that most or all of the mentioned items are not remotely possible, and those are just some of the reasons, if i listed all, then the list will be more than it is, its only a few to wet the appetite, and as you mentioned the are powerful forces to take it away.

My list would blow your list away if I ever decided to post the advantages of living outside the USA...just remember, Big Brother is watching...

If you break your leg and have no medical insurance..........you can come to Canada.
If you want to play at Poker Stars or Pinnacle....................you can come to Canada.

It all depends on your priorities I suppose.

BTW, I would like to drive that new car using my Visa. I know rentals are automatically insured by Visa, but I don't know where to rent a new car for $500 a month.

Everything you mention deals with being a consumer.

I guess if you are big into consuming America is the place to be.

Knowing how to clip coupons isn't a valuable knowledge, anyone can do that.

I would rather know how to earn enough money to be financially independent, very few people can accomplish this, and then I can clip coupons for a hobby.

You are putting the horse before the wagon buddyboy, by clipping the coupons and doing some of the things mentioned, THAT SAVES YOU AOT OF MONEY, and from THAT SAVINGS, THEN you can live happily then and later.

Are you saying you prefer paying all the regular prices and then somehow save??

Case in point, If you and I both made $100,000 per yr, I then decide to impliment all those things mentioned and some, what do you think happens at retirement for both of us. Who would have a bigger bank roll at that time.

let's say we both make zero $$$ per year, and have zero assets.

one of us has the knowledge to clip coupons and save money.
the other has knowledge to make money.

who will succeed?

I'm a firm believer in lbym and saving money (common sense) but you can't save it if you can't earn it first.

This is my last attempt to give common sense, oh by the way, its the thoughts of people like you that makes the USA great for others.

Even if you have 10 million dollars and I have 1 million. If you dont have money management skills or impliment ways like mentioned above then you will end up with zero dollars.

"its the american way" lol.

how many millionaires have you seen or heard of that are now broke, guess what? they didnt clip coupons, they went and bought the shoes for 600.00 and bags for 1000. etc

you have people who make 40K per year, who have a modest savings, bills paid, get laid go and party, vacations and happy. and yet you have those that made alot more and are miserable and or broke.

let's say you make $40,000 a year and with your cost savings "knowledge" you are able to save 99% of that or $39,000 per year.

after 30 years (not including col raises) you'll have well over 1 million in the bank

good for you

let's say I make $300,000 per year but I live like I make $40,000 a year. Because of my income I would be included in the 50% of the country that pays taxes so I really only have about $180,000 per year. so I save $140,000 per year and spend $40,000 a year (instead of $1000 like you)

in less than six years I would have the same amount of money saved in my bank account (you'll have another 24 years to go) not to mention I donated (paid) almost 3/4 of a million dollars in taxes where you paid ZERO

I quit my job (after I learn to clip coupons from you) and live off my million dollar bank account for the rest of my life. (and stop donating (paying) taxes)

saving money is very important and necessary, but it is not the most important thing... MAKING money is the most important THEN saving it.

It's all about keeping the money you earn.

America is great because of people that produce things, they create jobs, they create wealth. When you spend money that is the gas that keeps the engine going.

I'm a cheap bastard when it comes to some things, but others I am very generous because I know the money is going to help the economy. An example is using a coupon to save on a resturant meal, and then over tipping the wait staff.

Or using the cheapest car service in town and over tipping the driver.

Or paying more at the local mom and pop store instead of buying it at a big chain store.

That's just some of the shit that makes america great.

the statue of liberity is not a bonus whore.
