I keep seeing commercials that it is free right now with new direct tv sign up. I am considering switching over this season just to get sunday ticket, but also worried about the status of the NFL season

directv the only way to go, with or without the sunday ticket. personally don't think its worth the price anymore, especially with nfl network redzone, but i'd still probably get it if i had dtv.

i have it and i think its great. Red Zone is good but if you are really dedicated and want to see every down from your team, its the only way. I personally like to watch every single play from the Giants season. But if you are a more casual fan red zone is probably better

Well if you live in your hometown than redzone is still fine as you can watch your own team locally and monitor others. Redzone great for fantasy purposes as well. In my apartment we have the 2 tvs playing the skins/ravens games we get and then set up a computer and connect it to a smaller tv and use a stream of nfl redzone(only problem is the slight delay so our stat-tracker beats us to the punch as we are concerned with monitoring fantasy)

If you don't have a hometown team in your city (for instance, where I live in Vegas), then the NFL Sunday Ticket is great. Currently, Directv is the only company that carries this programming.

Somehow I got the Red Zone not only for FREE last year, but they PAID me $100 for getting it.

In a nut shell.
Its a must have.

The only problem is the camera....I would prefer a few more in the blind spots.

i like to see every single play..not just the ones that the network deems as good or exciting...i honestly have never seen red zone but isnt just the highlights of td's?

I got rid of Sunday Ticket 2 or 3 years ago because they kept adding $50-$100 a year for no apparent reason and I havent missed it. There may be one or two games a year that I miss out on, but with as busy as family stuff gets in the winter it no longer makes $$$ sense to keep it.

I got it a couple years back with a DTV deal and got it every years since. I made enough on betting NFL last year to pay for it so I'm a happy camper.

To me watching a game and not just the highlights and looking at the stats is critical to making a profit in NFL.
