Owners are set to vote to approve the new deal by 5:30 today.

I just want a deal done. I am not for or against either side. However, If they vote and approve that deal the players are gonna look real bad if the dont vote tonight or delay this any further..........

Lets consider.........

The rhetoric from D Smith all along has sounded terrible and off base.

Players had what D Smith thought was a fair agreement, yet they did not vote and asked for changes to the agreement yesterday.

Kevin Mawaaaaaaaaaa comes out and says that July 21st is the owners date to settle by, not the players.

Chester Pitts says last night that it could take two weeks still to finalize all this.

Then you have Vincent "DUI" Jackson and Logan Mankins trying to get $10 million a piece yet. Jackson, had he had any other job, wouldve been fired long ago after multiplee DUI's, not suing for $10 million dollars. They are a huge part as to why this thing has not yet been settled.:think2:

Should be an interesting Thursday night tonight.

Seems like D Smith ( terrible speaker and communicator by the way) and Jeffrey Kesser are still playing games.

Owners are gonna vote tonight to pass this and players are either gonna have to take it or leave it.

This could get ugly again.:ohno:

If the players dont vote on it & agree with the owners, there will be alot of angry fans hating the players & taking the owners side on this.

[FONT=Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif]From everything Ive read about the new CBA, it certainly seems the players have made out on almost EVERY issue! They even got less practice time in pads, two adays, etc......Yet, D-Smith and their fool lawyer are still not going to approve this deal. Holy sh**, you have to be kidding me!

Report: De Smith tells player reps there is “no agreement” with NFL
Posted by Mike Florio on July 21, 2011, 8:08 PM EDT

To put a twist on T.O.’s catch phrase, get your cold water ready.

After several days in which it looked like the NFLPA* was making an eleventh-hour power play against the league, it could be that the league is trying to make a twelfth-hour power play against the NFLPA*.

And it looks like it won’t work.

On the heels of an ominous e-mail that was directed by an unknown sender (likely Jeffrey Kessler) to unknown recipients (likely the board of player representatives), Jim Trotter of SI.com and ESPN’s Chris Mortensen have obtained a copy of the e-mail sent by NFLPA* executive director DeMaurice Smith to the board of player representatives.

Here’s the full text, as Trotter posted on Twitter, with edits to make it more easily readable.

“As you know the Owners have ratified their proposal to settle our differences,” the e-mail states. “It is my understanding they are forwarding it to us. As you may have heard, they apparently approved a supplemental revenue sharing proposal. Obviously, we have not been a part of those discussions. As you know from yesterday, issues that need to be collectively bargained remain open other issues such as workers compensation, economic issues and end of deal terms remain unresolved. There is no agreement between the NFL and the Players at this time. I look forward to our call tonight.”

Gulp.

Folks, there’s no way the NFLPA* will be approving the deal tonight or passing it along to the players for a vote. And once the league has to start canceling preseason weeks and not just one preseason game, real money is going to disappear — and the chances of getting a deal done will diminish.

Imo if the outstanding issues don't get resolved in a day or two, the deal is going to be dead in the water. Maybe it already is screwed as I have a feeling some of the owners are going to be pissed off. Who knows, maybe this is a pr ploy by the owners to get everyone pissed off at the players.

I always thought from the beginning it was the players fault for being in this mess, but thats just my opinion.

I am at a total loss......owners claim they had an agreement.

Players are saying they slipped in stuff to the deal.

This is a disaster.

George Wilson, Bills PLayer Rep, said NO VOTE FRIDAY!

I was in favor of the players early but now I think the NFLPA is made up of clowns and it seems like they are just delaying this to delay it as long as possible (probably bc they want to miss camp and they want the owners to lose money). De Smith and some of these player reps are very under educated individuals. De Smith and these player reps CANNOT EVEN SPEAK! It is embarrassing.

I am tired of their excuses too. They say the language was changed, they say they didnt get the full CBA, they say they arent happy about certain things in there, blah, blah, blah.........but yet they WILL NOT SPECIFY what these things are or what it is they want. It certianly seems like the owners made a BUNCH of concessions too.

Then they say they wont be held to a deadline........uh, you better be you dumbasses or you arent gonna have a season and you aaint gettin' paid!

De Smith and Kessler their attorney were nobody before this so I am sure they are loving the attention by having this drawn out.

BY the way, analysis on NFL Network made a great point....

Players claim they havent seen a CBA to vote on, yet claim the language was changed and things were added. So which one is it? Dumba****.

Too soon for the players. They want to get out of a big chunk of training camp while still getting bank for the full season. I bet that they will drag their feet for another week or two..

Of course they cant read, or at least not very well.....thats part of the problem! They cant negotiate a CBA with those big words. I see Charlie Batch was involved in these CBA talks and laughed bc he isnt very smart. Then again, have you heard "whatcha talkin 'bout" D Smith speak?

I was leaning with the players when this started, then went neutral, but today I am against the NFLPA......and after reading a lot of sites/boards tonight, seems like 90% of the fans are now against the players after today.

Too much posturing and grandstanding by Dee Smith that has now blown up in his face.

I don't know anything about the deal but seems like a perfect play by the owners to get the fans on there side...

The owners voted on it before the players had a chance to read the final documents.I don't blame the players for being pissed.
If the owners were honest they could have let the Players read the final doc, then they could have passed it simultaneously. Instead the owners are pressring the players by voting for it and making the players look the bad guys....completly fuckin dumb on the owners part.Disrespectful.
(Its like Obamacare got passed before anyone read it and its a disaster.)
