RedSox pitching puts them behind the Phills and with Tex recent streak, i'd put them above the Yanks, and if Blue Jays didn't have to play the Sox and Yanks again i'd have them above Cin and Ariz

My power ratings complied from the last game before the all star break. Will update the list next week.

7/14/11

1. Boston
2. Philadelphia
3. NY Yankees
4. Atlanta
5. San Francisco
6. LA Angels
7. Tampa Bay
8. St. Louis
9. NY Mets
10. Detroit
11. Milwaukee
12. Arizona
13. Texas
14. Toronto
15. Cincinnati
16. Chi White Sox
17. Pittsburgh
18. Cleveland
19. Washington
20. Seattle
21. Colorado
22. Minnesota
23. LA Dodgers
24. Kansas City
25. Florida
26. San Diego
27. Baltimore
28. Chi Cubs
29. Oakland
30. Houston

Texas, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Florida, will be moving up in the rankings, while Seattle going the other way.

I think the Tampa Bay team is better than Texas, Milwaukee, Detroit. Milwaukee is a bad road team, Detroit after their starters it gets a little thin. Texas is on a hot streak, but they only swept Baltimore, Oakland, Seattle.

Mets #9???

A little surprising, but look at it this way.

The team right above them in the ranking is St. Louis. They play in a division where the Cubs & Astros are combined for 53 games below .500 while in the Mets division, Phillies and Braves are combined for 44 games above .500.

The American League East, is the best division in baseball.

The National League East, is the second best division in baseball.

I was thinking about incorporating strength of divisions into the ranking system, as the stats complied against tougher competition should mean something in an unbalanced schedule. Still a work in progress.
