Phillies fans who would you rather have Pence or Beltran?

For the one guy who says I lost credibility calling Michael Martinez a stud, he had another late game home run today put the Phillies up big. Seems like every close game this guy comes up huge.

Pence would make a huge contribution in the Phillies lineup or anyone else's lineup. I think he would be a comparable pick up to Beltran. Either way, I don't think you go wrong with Pence or Beltran

Personally, I would love to see either one come to Texas

Pence to the Rangers would be great but they also need some pitching. Beltran getting near the end of his career, Pence has a lot more upside

Hands down Pence dude plays hard every game he plays in. I think he would fit right in philly and the fans would love him because of his hard work and hustle.

He's not a stud, he's had some clutch hits, but he's nowhere the player Polanco is.

He's has a sub par batting average, .236.
He has a pitiful on base percentage, .277
Those numbers are dreadful.

It gets worse, he's struck out 22 times in 110 at bats.
Once every five times he strikes out.
Pitiful.

On defense he's mediocre at best, his range factor in the outfield is barely league average, same at third base.

Stud?
Pujols is a stud, Tulo is a stud, Kemp is a stud, Martinez is NOT a stud, stop it.

Shane Spencer came off the Yankee bench 12 years ago and hit 7 homers in 2 weeks, he wasn't a stud.

Manny Mota for 15 years came off the bench and did what Martinez did a few times this season.

Get it right, Mike Martinez is only up in the majors because of injuries, he won't be here long, with the exception of a few timely hits, he's not big league ball player, he's not even a 25th man.

He's just a mediocre .263 career minor league hitter in five seasons.

Pence has at least one hit in each of his four games with the Phillies since being acquired Friday from Houston.

Stop with the Martinez is a stud stuff. Yeah, he hit a home run because he failed to lay a bunt down in this game. He was called upon to sacrifice and he failed twice in this at bat. He had no choice but to swing away. Sure, I am glad he hit it but come on, he is far from a stud.

mikey martinez is pretty bad, had a nice little run when he got some constant ABs but he is no more than a end of the bench utility guy, as for the Pence move i think the biggest effect this has on the Phillies and making them better is now they can hit Victorino in the 2 hole. He is having a monster year and probably would be getting some MVP considerations if he wasnt on the DL twice. Howard is a better hitter with runners on and having victorino in the 2 hole makes Howard better in the 4 slot
