Why not? Other than last night, in their last 12 or 13 losses, they went into those games as a moderately priced underdog, and at a few games at home, they were co-favorites when "King Felix" was pitching.

I'm particularly interested in their game today, hoping they lose today again to the Red Sox, as I have a close friend who was lucky enough to begin a parlay wagering against Seattle 11 games ago. So today, he will go into some sportsbook in Vegas, looking to get the best price he can vs. Wakefield, where he will put all of the winnings thus far, from the parlay he started all those losses ago. What a edge he has, at least ending his parlay on the road, at Boston, and has the solid hitting Red Sox going for him. Of course I know Wakefield is old and is capable of giving up runs galore everytime he walks out on the mound.

Personally, I like the game over, despite Seattle leaving more men on base in their last several games than most teams in baseball, since the All Star Game.

I'm not sure what my friend's $200 parlay will figure, but I hope he at least deducts his original $200 from today's end to a really nice parlay!

Good luck Otto just in case you read this!

First thing I check for when Wakefield is pitching is the weather. Breezy days seem to wreck havoc on his knuckleball. Forecast today in Boston will be in the low-80s, with light winds, and Wakefield should be comfortable with that.

Given the complete let-down last night night when the pitching collapsed in the 7th inning, I think one more loss is possible for the Mariners.

How weird would it be to play Mariners first 5 innings, but the Red Sox for the game?

You'd be up good money if you played the Sox in 2nd half of games this year. They get to everybody's pen.

I made a 5 inning play on Seattle (+130) earlier. Now that I have dough at Heritage, I just made first ever 2nd half baseball play on BSN at -115.

Pineda is killing me in more way than one. He's been a key contributor to my 1st place CBS fantasy team, but lately (like many of my other hurlers), he's been a disaster.

Otto- I told you I loved the game OVER 9. I hope you wagered at least a dime in that spot. Read my original post of this thread. I hope you read it before you set out to look for that price.....at the time of this reply...you are still in good shape with Boston and the parlay. Good luck my friend!

Halladay was money in the bank today! (Gave the -1 1/2 runs for the most part).

Okay Otto....three more outs and you did it. I admit I fell asleep after it went OVER, so I cashed there. Call me if you get a chance. Later.

seattle is a very live dog today.....vargas very capable of pitching well enogh to get a close win. hard to turn down such a gererous price with this dog, however, the lack of run production has me really leary. this yankee favorite price is definitely too high, and fiscally speaking, the dog is the play. stop now otto, don't be greedy.

mink- are you in aroundabout way saying that if Vargas pitched for the Yankees tonight and Garcia for Seattle, the line would be any different? The whole world knows seattle can't score runs, and the last time that city had ANYTHING to cheer about is when the Seahawks beat the Saints straight up last season, as a home dog of 9 or 10 points. I remember that well, as the Saints had tons of injuries and I took Seattle on the moneyline to win straight up.
I'd still take Seattle tonight if hardprseed as the line is simply stupid! Its almost as if when they opened the game up for wagering, it was based on batting averages as opposed to pitching. Since when is Garcia a Whitey Ford or a Ron Guidry? Have a nice evening.

The Yankee team total might be a better bet. Pitchers like Garcia tend to drift toward their recent years' stats as the season goes. Mariner bullpen and Vargas could give up a lot of runs, though, in Yankee Stadium. Their bullpen has been knocked around lately.
