Have you noticed that the Twins can't seem to ever score runs in bunches? Even against sub- standard pitching. Other than Verlander, they have seen a lot of crummy pitching in the last few weeks. Porcello has had success against them. Combine this with a Tiger lineup that is loaded from top to bottom, and I can't see why the Twins are favored. Liriano, even when he pitches well, is not the same pitcher he used to be. Lacks control and tends to pitch better against poor hitting teams. Twin bullpen can also give up runs. I'm just not a believer that the Twins will automatically stay competitive this year like they always seem to.

Liriano may have gotten rocked by Tigers earlier this year but that was his first game after the 123 pitch no hitter. The time before that at home he threw 7 innings of shutout ball by Detroit with 5H, 1W, and 7K. Porcello is as big a question mark here but I will take Minny at home tried to salvage a split in this series.
