"Consider the following stats: Doctors: The number of doctors in the U.S. is 700,000. Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000. Accidental deaths per physician is 17.14% (Statistics courtesy of the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services). Guns: The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000 (yes that's 80 million). The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.001875% (Statistics courtesy of the FBI). Therefore, "statistically speaking," doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners, the logical conclusion being "guns don't kill people, doctors do!"

They do kill people but they also save them...my side of the family has had at least a handful of bad doctor experiences while my father in law would have been dead years ago if it was not for some great doctors

Idiots kill people. Sometimes they use guns. Sometimes they use malpractice.

you wont have to worry about it much longer. the hospitals with the new health plan are going to hire alot of nurse practitioners. unless you are really ill you wont see a doctor. if you think it is bad now wait until nurse practitioners come on the scene. my wife is a dr and she has told me the worst dr you can have is a general practice dr. in school they learn a little about everything she calls them dangerous. emergency room dr are the second worse in her opinion. not pimping her field but she is a internal med dr and in my opinion she is no joke far as internal stuff is concerned.

Not a fair analogy IMO. Surgeons do multiple surgeries per day, and dozens per week for some. How often do people actually pull their gun out and shoot it? If guns were used as frequently by gun owners as doctors who treat patients, I'm sure the number would be way higher for guns. Also, many times a surgeon is not operating on an ideal candidate for surgery. There could be issues with Anesthesia because of other health issues. Some of these people who come in for surgery are morbidly obese with multiple health problems. Not an ideal situation. Most of the time guns are shot in controlled environments with very strict guildelines.

yep. Goin' in knowing their chances are low, but 'try to help' anyway.....patient didnt make it alive, doctors fault? should they have even tried? or say, umm, you're shit out of luck, try elsewhere.
