why should someone charge for water?

You are using the 3 million dollar resturant, you are using a cup, they are paying the counter person to take the order, and the service clerk to serve it.

Charging for water is not the norm. Just a cost of doing business.

Where is it the norm? Taco bell, Chipotle, Mcdonalds, Subway, potbelly, basically every place in my town including the BK doesnt charge you for a cup of water

Ooops thought u said it was the norm

What would be your guess of the franchise cost, the land cost, the parking lot, the permits, and the construction cost to own a BK?

Wonder if they'll charge you to take a shit next??

I remember when I was a kid, there were several department stores that had bathroom stalls with a coin operating machine attached at the door. You had to put 10 cent in it, turn the knob on the machine & the door would open for you to enter the stall. Crazy but true, I guess no one used them so they got rid of the "pay to piss/shit" machines, LoL!

When did it cost 3 mil to build a freakin BK?

I dont know how much they cost but I have a friend that owns alot of different properties that he leases out the land to a Hardees, a Sheetz (like a 7-eleven) & several other franchises. He gets $8,500 a month from Hardees & $10,000 from Sheetz so it must cost alot to build those franchises.

Well what ever it cost, they should have people on on the payroll ready to give away free cups, ice and water, and clean up shitters after homeless people have splattered the walls.

I don't think people are coming in and asking for water and then leaving, but if they are than i can see how charging makes sense. But if you are buying food and want water to go with it instead of soda than i dont think they should be charging.

yes I'll have the 99 cent chicken sandwich, with EXTRA pickle, and some mayo on the side, hold the lettuce, and be sure the onion isn't hot, and I would like a FREE water, with ice and a straw and lid. Ohhhhhhhhhhh and you might want to have someone check the shitter, I think I plugged up the 2nd stall pretty bad.
