Wow is it dark...lol Well these are the things a fish has to do to get to the big tournys so some lucky jerry yang looking fool can win the damn thing.
And i guess im about to embark on my journey to donate same..2011 World Poker Open today in tunica, miss. Only about a 5.5 hour drive so if im not gone in 30 mins i wont make the 1st hand.. Although i havent played badly at all the last few Omaha8b tournys im going to go ahead and skip todays and play the NL instead. If as many ppl show up as they are expecting 1st place could pay 40-60 grand. That should be plenty incentive to down a bottle of Tanqueray and eat a handful of XanaX on the ride home after busting out ooooooooo445th or so....lol
Wish me luck!!!!!! not on the poker ...on the 3 may-pops and the slipping transmission im counting on to get me there and back!!!!!!

Finished a very dissapointing, but in the money 21st place. Had a top 10 stack even at 1 time. last table they moved me to was pretty tough especially when i got zero hands for the last 2.5 hours.
No more 4000 chip /20 minute level live tournys for me. From now on i ck the structure well in advance and if its a turbo-push fest ill just stay at home. This 1 had 10K chips and 40 min levels and i was on cruise control the entire day...easiest 12 hours of poker ive ever played. No badbeats and really only regretted 2 hands.....2 times deep i folded junk in the SB when it was a limped pot.....and flopped the stone cold nuts both times. on the last 1 i folded A3s, the flop comes 3 spades and 2 people went all in.....

How much did 21st bring in? I agree, when you play a REAL tournament its night and day different from the normal shovefest

I think i got double the buy-in plus about 30 bucks. enough to drive home and still make a small profit. takes me 4 tanks of $50 each to go there and back.

Been broke all summer and havent played any of the big events around here, the beau rivage fall classic and the wsop- bossier city. actually i dont like the beau, people are ass holes over there and with my bad attitude i end up clashing with somebody at every table. Bossier City is like 6 tanks of gas and another 1.5hr drive, i really should have played that one looking back. I was running/playing very good at the time and now ive turned downward bigtime the last 2 weeks. Poker bankroll is down about 45% over the last 3 weeks as ive not been able to buy a break in ANY game..

Sights set now on the wsop event at the end of October at the IP in biloxi, should be another in Dec in N.O and then a January event at the Beau....usually.

I really think i can break through for a good cash in these wsop events, the stuctures are just made for my game. Ive also got to give credit to a former wsop c-event champ whos from here also and whos name escapes me at the moment but watching him ( hes been at my tables for like the last 6 events ive played) has shown me that attacking the really big fish at the table in the 1st few levels when most good players are playing premiums only can get you a lot of chips early. These fish are going to bust out early no reason it shouldnt be by me!
Thats the biggest change between online and live.
Did very good last sunday night and agin on monday evening playing 1/2 at the boat and im pretty sure ill be back tonight. huge 4-8-12 limit omaha game goes then to but they have a way of keeping me out that game and i rarely get to play in it unless there is no list and they cant say no.And thats rare, its by far the most popular game the 3 or 4 nights a week its run and the pots get huge! So do the swings so its a lil risky to my roll if i get off to a bad start but let me double up in say the 1st hour and the game will break up within 30 mins....lol 1 night its just me and a drunk whale playing heads up for 2 hours+.....sent him to the ATM 3 times and won over $900 from him in that time... On another topic that whale changed his entire game after that night. he quit drinking, he quit capping every pot with any 2 cards and plays like a player who went home and read a few books. he really is a nice guy but when hes drunk he just spews chips like crazy.. half the hands we played that night were capped ever street and at the end he would give his cards to the dealer and say "what do i have"....lol
Last weekend it was me and like 4 nit regulars with 5 tourists who couldnt fold a pair no matter the board, stayed 4.5 hrs and left with 4.5 buy-ins. i big hand, i get a 3 way all-in. they dont turn the cards over here untill all 5 are dealt....so when the borard came QQ10 i was getting nervous but it hadnt hit me yet. x on the turn and an A on the river and unless someone had qq i took the whole pot....i had AA, 2nd plyr had KK and the 3rd guy, who will hate me forever had....AQ. I hit a 1 outer to beat him on the river. He was really pissed and started 3 betting me everytime i got in a pot after that, he was wanting to prove something to me and just wouldnt let him, id either 4 bet shove or fold. i think he wanted to try to outplay me after the flop, i dont know if he could or not so i never gave him a chance..
Like i say i was REALLY deepstacked then and i wasnt gonna get crazy wondering what to do with say 2nd pair on a dry board.....f that. win it preflop or see all 5 against unknown crazies seems to work best for me...
Gotta be carefull though, very limited bankroll and take a big hit and i miss the IP event....again!!!

Cash games have been going well. last 4 live trips were all winners. including my 1st winning session ever playing 1/2 NL live. 1/2 plays a whole lot different than 2/5 or 5/10 because in comparison to the blinds everyone is so much more deep stacked. most ppl here buy in for 3-500 and thats a lot of BB's at 1/2. $500 at 2/5 is barely enough to get going with. The 1st time i played 1/2 was in las vegas last new years and i got busted quick because i didnt take the deep stack play into consideration and gave cahsers the correct implied odds to try to run me down....which they did over and over again. I find a negranue small ball approach trying to set hellmuth traps get the money much faster against deep stacked opponents.

Well 3 days to go till WSOPC-Biloxi and as it stands now ill play Fridays Re-entry tourny which im hoping will have a small field friday and a huge turnout Saturday..Ofcourse anything can happen between now and friday...and usually does.

Online ive been playing the small sites, usually 1 tourny and some cash hands a night. Ive had 1 cash period in the last 30 days! some of these are like $3 tournys with 30-40 people. But no its not rigged...........lol

I made IT to Biloxi yesterday and believe it or not outlasted 200+ players to make it to the final day!!!! Blinds will be around 3000/1500 when we resume Sunday and ive got about the avg stack of 75K. We played down to 25 last night and they'll do the same today then combine us all for Sunday. 1st place at the same evnt in Indiana last week pd over $45K....i think our field will be a lil smaller than theirs...they had about 320 on day 1 so it really depends on how many enter today. i hope they get 400 but anything close to 300 will make it a pretty nice payout. They pay 12% of the field which means finishing just in the money will get you about twice the buy-in. That wont even show a profit for me after gas and other expenses so its balls to wall from the 1st hand on when it resumes Sunday at 3PM.

Yea ive always been tight but just here in the last few months this folding the small blind has cost me mucho dinero. Really its like a bad habit i gotta break, i just auto fold so much in the SB that do it without even thinking. Wont happen tommorrow thats for damn sure.

Enjoy reading your postings...I'm about to embark on my own poker journey and have learned like yourself that the shovefest tourny's only create fish who give it all back in the true tournaments where patiance and real poker can be played.

Keep at it, your big win will come.

Respectfully,
Tim

Wow didnt realize it had been this long. Went to the I.P. tonight and played the WSOP-C HORSE event. Not much of a crowd only about 50 players.

Actually i should say there was about 5 players and 45 people who just couldnt find anything else to do cus they threw their money away. I never seen such bad players, dumbass gamblers in my life. And ofcourse i couldn't buy a frickin hand. I tried to play to many hands early on cus they were so bad if i could have just hit a few id be sitting good when the blinds got big. Did nothing there. Started with 5000 and was down to 3000in maybe 1.5 hours. So then i just went into nit mode and just sat there folding for proly another 1.5 Finally with about 2000 chips i hit a lil run and got up to about 6000. Card dead agin bu the players were SO bad they were dropping left and right.
Finally got a big hand, the only premium hand i had all night. AA23 dbl suited in Omaha hi-lo, a game where i think ive got a big edge. Aggresive Asian punk raises, i reraise, he reraises and ends up capping it before the flop. I flop the nut low, bet and we end up capping that. Turn is a blank he bets i just call as its all low cards now and it looks like we're prolly going to split the pot. Sure enough anothe low hits the river so any 2 cards below a 5 gives u the nut low. I ck he bets and i call. The bastard capped the pot PF with 3268 BADUGI. he made the 6 high straight on the river and we split the low. Crushed me. After that i managed to dbl up a couple times in 3 way pots but only had like 8 BB's tops. 15 left im all in in Razz against 1 guy. On 5th street we turn our hands over cus im all-in and we have the same low hand. On the river he hits a 3 and i hit a J and im out the door. 15th place i think paying 9.. So disappointing.
