Yesterday's short results below:
Tampa Bay Rays -105 BEST BET (win)
Twins +135 (win)
Reds/Giants OVER 9 (loss)
Indians -130 (loss)
While we did net a little profit and hit our best bet smasher, 2-2 is still not acceptable. Saturday we crush the books. Again, I will be giving out my plays for the next week or so for free until I get my site up which will be shortly. Many of you know me on here and many of you don't. One thing I have learned in this business. Winning talks. Plays for today below.
LA Angels -125 BEST BET SMASHER
Dan Haren takes the mound vs Tigers rookie Duane Below in a game that the Angels want to have. If they are going to have a legit chance to make the playoffs games like this with the pitching edge way in their favor must be won. Below is young and with the Halos experience in small ball look for them to draw walks and make this young rookie who's making his third career start frazzled. Last time Haren faced Detroit he threw a CG shut out out dueling Verlander. Play on the Angels.
Pirates/Phillies UNDER 7.5
James McDonald has been one of the NLs hottest pitchers recently going 2-0 with a 1.56 ERA over his last three starts. His velocity has been stout and he has had very good location, something that has always been the thing that has kept him back. Cliff Lee is coming off a very bad start vs the Padres and two bad starts in a row against below average lineups is not something I'd bank on with him. This will be an ole fashion pitchers duel.
Boston Red Sox -147
Jon Lester goes for Boston today and his last three starts, after coming off DL combined with before are as good as it gets. He has posted a 0.56 ERA in those starts. Phil Humber goes for Chicago and while his season has been a blessing for the White Sox, his last three starts he has started to falter posting a 5.51 ERA and struggling with his command. Boston will rebound tonight with Lester on the mound.
Florida Marlins +140
Anibal Sanchez goes for the Marlins and brings a 6-3 record with a 3.60 ERA to the mound (3.27 ERA last three starts). Tim Hudson goes for Atlanta and he sports a 9-7 record with a 3.42 ERA (2.57 last three starts). In my eyes these starters are a wash, maybe Hudson has a slight edge. However, with star Brian McCann on the DL along with Nate McLouth and you add Chipper Jones being Questionable, you have to wonder where this team is going to get consistent power production besides young Freddie Freeman. Mike Stanton, Hanley, Logan Morrison and Emilio Bonifacio have been stellar lately. Florida has won four of its last five as well.
Good luck today.
